Polygraph eyes (Abandoned - Feel Free To Continue/Finish)

New Job

Avalon's POV

Dom waved over the waiter and thanked her for everything. 
She smiled at him really sweetly.

"actually... i didn't wanna interrupt you guys while eating, but I'm a bug fan and i was wondering if could get a picture with you" She was smiling nervously gesturing at Dom.

Dom sprung up. "of course you can, babe!" he put his arm around her and pressed his cheek on hers. She snapped the picture quickly and blushed. "thank you so much Dominic" she beamed and almost floated away. I didn't notice how I was starring at her until Riley nudged my side. "Ava, she's just a fan, he's just being friendly" Riley whispered to me. That didn't help the situation at all. I was really fearing that this thing was the same... I'm just a fan and he's just being friendly with me. I nodded and sent Riley a weak smile.

Adam must've noticed this. He kicked my foot under the table and I gasped looking up at him. 
He smiled at me shaking his head. He rolled his eyes while nodding towards Dom.
I didn't quite understand what he was getting at, but I was pretty sure he was trying to make me feel better.

Dom sat back down and put an arm around me. I must've flinched when he did so, causing him to remove it again.
"Well.. is everyone finished then?" he asked.
Everyone let out a strained yes, obviously also being as full as i felt. I nodded, starting to feel guilty that I hadn't restricted. it would be hard with Riley just beside me though - she would've definitely have noticed.

We got up and Dom left a bunch of money on the table. Definitely enough to cover the tab, including a hefty tip. 
Riley was deep in a conversation with Michael. They were talking about some game - Zelda maybe? something about a nintendo switch at least...
My entire body felt so heavy after eating such a filling meal and I fell behind a bit. Dom did too. 
"I'm really proud that you ate so much. I bet Riley is too." He smiled at me and put his hand on my back. I smiled weakly up at him.

"I can tell you don't feel good about it" he sighed "But you made everyone so happy, doesn't that make it a bit better" I felt my heart flutter at the thought and nodded. I had done something that made Dom happy. Well... I had avoided doing something that would've made him sad... and in turn made him happy... I shrugged unintentionally. Dom stopped in his tracks and grabbed my arm. I flinched, putting my other arm up to block what I expected to come next. 

I was wrong about his intention. Why would I even think he was gonna hit me? This was Dom, the biggest, softest goofball I had ever heard of... well, met. He didn't wanna hit me, he had grabbed my arm to pull me in for a hug and just as I had met his embrace he picked me up bridal style. 
"We're falling behind, Ava" He laughed and took a few fast, long steps and we were at the car.

He put me down and opened the back door for me. Adam was already on the back seat and Riley was in the passenger seat beside Michael who was driving. I slid into the middle back seat and dom slid in beside me. 
"so... where to?" Michael asked. 
Dom shrugged. "oh, that reminds me Ava, you never told me if you'd take the job" He said , eying me carefully. I held my breath.. he had said there was an open position that they needed to find someone for, and that I was a perfect fit for it. 

I didn't know what else I would do.. now that I had been expelled from school. I didn't wanna have to go home and tell my mother about what had happened and then not have another plan. She's freak out and wouldn't hesitate to tell me how much of a failure I was.

The last time I had told her something that disappointed her was when I had left my ex boyfriend after a couple months of living with him. He was really sweet towards my mother, at least that's what she thought.. he was just really manipulative, and she had no idea what went on behind closed doors...
