Ava's POV
I had really missed Riley's company. not much had happened back at the school.
Some people had been nasty towards Riley for a couple of days after the concert, but most people were actually really nice to her for helping setting the whole thing up.
I was wondering what people had said about me, but at the same time I didn't wanna know. She had met up with MGK at the airport and they shared a cab to get here. Michael had set that up. She was fangirling a little over having talked with MGK so much.
Her and Michael had also texted every day since we left.
She kept asking about Dom and I, but there wasn't much to tell.
I really loved being near him, but I don't think he felt the same.
"Hmmm... Michael told me you guys went out for breakfast and cuddled and stuff..." She said looking confused when I said we were just friends.
"Well... We did, but I still don't think it's like that... He's just being friendly" I shrugged.
Then Ronnie came over and sat down
"Knowing him he probably is just being friendly." He looked unbothered. "Had to pick his last fling up off the floor, he had gotten her hopes up, but to him she was still just a fan."
I felt a knot in my stomach and my throat closed.
I couldn't answer.
"I thought you were mute?" He turned to me. "She is, it's an anxiety thing, she can't physically talk, if she feels pressure" Riley said, knowing that what Ronnie had just said got to me. I just nodded."Oh, no need to feel pressure with me" he smiled at me. I still felt pressured though.
Riley looked uncomfortable With Ronnie. I had heard something about kicking a band off their tour, and I knew Riley liked that band, cause she had talked about it.
I don't see how a decision like that should affect how anyone would see him on a personal level though.
He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered each of us one.
I politely shook my head, but Riley took one.
"Oh, you don't smoke?" Ronnie asked me.
I shook my head again. "Smart girl" he winked at me and put the cigarette in his mouth and lit it, before handing Riley the lighter.
Somehow the subject shifted to Ronnie's time in prison and he told us about it openly.
It was interesting what he had been through and so cool that he was now sober from drugs and alcohol. Then Dom came over and he sat down across from me.
He looked annoyed, and I was afraid he might be mad at me cause I wandered off, but I had missed Riley and wanted to be alone with her.. but then I guess it doesn't really look like I left to be alone with her because Ronnie was sitting here too... Dom couldn't know that Ronnie had just joined us.
"Hey man" Ronnie said to Dom.
"Hi." Dom was cold in his response. He was definitely mad.
I looked down.
"We should probably go inside and enjoy the festival before it's stage time" Michael said as he walked up behind Riley.
He put his hands on her shoulders and she nodded.
We all stood up and Dom walked beside me.
"Are you mad?" I asked him.
He stopped and pulled me aside.
"No, I'm not mad, I just really don't vibe well with Ronnie." He sounded frustrated.
"Why?" I asked knowing Ronnie didn't like him either.
"He just rubs me the wrong way.. I think he's a jerk" usually I would take Dom's word for that, but I didn't know Ronnie very well, and I didn't wanna judge him based on other people's view of him. And for some reason he felt trustworthy.
The way he had opened up to Riley and I about his past and how he wanted to warn me about Dom. Now at least I knew Dom's intentions and I wouldn't read anything into it.
"Anyways, let's get going, Lana Del Rey is going on stage in 20 minutes!" Dom grabbed my hand.
How did he know I loved Lana? Had he checked my playlists? I sure hoped not, that was very private...When we were walking to the stage Mgk caught up to us.
"Dom, our sets overlap, I go on straight after you, what do you say, we take a short time out of each of our sets and do a couple of songs together?" He was excited.
"That sounds great, man!" Dom exclaimed. They decided on acting like that and I'm not okay.
I was excited.
I just hoped Dom would play Teresa again today. I loved that song. Maybe I should just ask him? No. He wouldn't care.
