Seated in a corner of the Lizard Club room , where the students of Mouseford Academy liked to meet , Colette continued to think about the best angle of attack for her article intended for Cosmouse . She began to write .

Colette : «Fashion is...»

But for lack of inspiration , stopped . She looked around , nibbling on the cap of her pen . The club had turned into a veritable fashion workshop , where budding stylists strove to make their models . In this joyful colorful disorder , Colette's gaze was suddenly drawn to Nicky . Intending to create an ensemble that combined sport and glamor , she studied with the greatest concentration a whole series of magazines , in the hope of finding ideas . Colette noted appropriately .

Colette : «Fashion is...research !»

But she shakes her head .

Colette : « No ! Fashion certainly involves research , but there's more to it than that . »

Fashion was indeed a quest , but much more . The arrival of Annette , Ramona , Ludo , Betty and Zoe , or rather Miss Belle , accompanied by Violet and Pamela , however forced Colette to stop . The members of the jury came from the apprentice seamstresses to get to know them and see them at work . Betty detached herself from the group , she was intrigued by the silent activity of Dina , who tried to tidy up the clothes piled up in the bottom of an old suitcase .

Betty : Hi , I'm Betty Chanel ! You're participating to the fashion show as a designer ?

Dina : Yes , I don't have much experience , but-

Annette : Hey ! Am I wrongh or is this an original Brittany Brie scarf from the seventies ?

Dina : It is . I'm planning to incorporate-

Zoe : Ah , Vanilla ! This is incredible work !

As Vanilla had imagined , the four visitors lent the ear to the alleged Miss Belle and , in less time than it takes to tell , joined her to contemplate the evening dress which had materialized as a model of the young girl .

Ramona : Miss Belle is right ! Your dress is beautiful !

Vanilla : You're to kind ! It's so unfnished . There are still so many thing to do ! I have to fix the hem , apply the sequins , and add some frills .

What none of the jurors could guess is that the young girl would not do any of these , just as she had not participated in the realization of the splendid toilet that everyone admired . In fact , Vissia de Vissen , Vanilla's mother , had ordered it from a great French designer, and it was Alan , the family butler , who would put the finishing touches .

Zoe : Even without any of those change , your dress is already gorgeous . Right ?

To Vanilla's immense satisfaction , all nodded . with conviction , and the young girl could not hide a smile , winning would be child's play for her .
