Chapter 2

Jesy's POV:

"Of course I remember that night! How could I not?" Daphne's voice gets louder with each word.

"I just thought maybe you forgot." I say slowly.

"You thought I forgot or you were hoping I forgot?" Daphne crosses her arms and tilts her head.

When I don't say anything, she shakes her head. Being unable to handle the look of sadness and disappointment on her face, I look away.

"How could I forget I slept with my best friend?" Her voice quivers. "That night was one of the best nights of my life but clearly it meant nothing to you." Her voice has gone quieter.

I round my desk and step closer to her.

"Daphne, I-"

"No, Jessica, you're right. I should just forget about that night. Forget the way your body feels against mine, how uneven your breath got when I touched you just right, the way you screamed my name when you came over and over again."

My breathing gets unsteady the more she talks. I slowly raise my eyes to meet hers and find her smirking. A knock sounds on my office door and Daphne takes a step back.

"Yeah?" She calls out, arms folded over her chest.

The door opens to reveal Jade and from the look on her face, she either heard what was said or she already knew. It wouldn't surprise me if she already knew, her and Daphne have always been close, almost like sisters, and they tell each other everything.

"What is it, Jade?" I ask.

She rolls her eyes and looks at Daphne. "Your parents are here."

"Okay."

"Your bio Mom is here too. She said she has an appointment."

"I didn't have her on the schedule."

They both look at me.

"I didn't schedule an appointment with her."

The looks on their faces say they don't believe me. Daphne walks out of my office and I follow.

"Chloe! Parker!"

I watch Daphne hug a man and a woman about her age.

"Girls, I want you to meet my replacement, Parker Andrews. Parker, this is Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Jessica Nelson. You'll help all of them but mostly Jessica."

I roll my eyes at her use of my full first name.

"That's your desk. I left you a surprise in the bottom right drawer. Trust me, you'll need it."

"It's nice to meet you all." Parker says as he walks over to the desk. "Daph, you are freaking awesome!"

"What's in the drawer?" The girl, Chloe, asks.

"Sex toys." Daphne replies with a straight face.

"What?!" Jade, Leigh, Pez, and I exclaim together.

The three of them push each other trying to reach the desk. Daphne bursts out in laughter.

"It's snacks and energy drinks!" Daphne smirks. "The sex toys are in Perrie's desk."

Perrie blushes. Jade smirks and high fives Daphne.

"Did you three authorize a new assistant?" I ask the trio.
