Chapter 1

Daphne's POV:

"Daphne!"

I look over my computer monitor to see Jade, Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Janice.

"What's up?" I finish typing my last sentence then sit back in my chair.

"What's the flavor of the week?" Jade questions.

A moan can be heard from the office to my left and Janice rolls her eyes while Jade lokks at me.

"Blonde."

"I just don't understand why she's doing this."

I look at Janice and sigh. "She was with Jake since junior year of high school then they got engaged and he cheated. This is how she's chosen to cope. We may not like it or agree with it but she's an adult so there's really not anything we can do. It is her life after all."

"You always do that." I give Jade a questioning look. "You always defend her."

"It's my job, for another fifteen minutes anyway."

"Has she said anything about you leaving?" Leigh speaks up.

I shake my head. Her only reaction to the news of me leaving has been to fuck her bitch of the week in her office every day instead of just one day during the week. Jade is the only one that knows it's become an every day thing.

"I'm meeting with her before I leave though."

The office door opens revealing a tall blonde who shoots me a satisfied smirk. The brunette in question exits next, looking flawless as always. She looks at me but I quickly look away, focusing on Jade and Janice.

"Hi, Mom."

"Hello, Jessica." Janice crosses her arms across her chest.

"How long have you all been out here?"

"Long enough." The icy reply comes from Jade.

"Are you ready for our meeting?"

I nod in reply.

"Wait!"

We all look at Leigh, watching as she grabs the air freshener from the bottom drawer of my desk then walking over to the office and spraying it. She walks back over to my desk with a smirk.

"It ain't hard to figure out what just happened in there. Can't have my girl going in a stank ass office."

Perrie and Jade laugh, Janice bites her lip trying not to laugh, and Jesy and the blonde glare at Leigh.

"She's my girl." Jade states, pulling me around my desk and away from Leigh.

"No, she's my girl!" Whines Pez as she wraps her arms around my waist.

"Jeez, here we go agian!" Jesy scoffs.

"Daphne, go have your meeting with the Ice Queen." Leigh tells me, crossing her arms. "But don't touch anything in that nasty office."

I chuckle and pat Perrie's arms as a signal to release me. Once she lets me go I follow Jesy into her office, closing the door behind us. I stand in front of her desk as she sits in her chair.

"So you're leaving?"

"I am. I've fulfilled my promise to the four of you. It's time for me to move on."

"Have you fulfilled your promises though?"

"Yes! I promised to help the four of you get this business off the ground and agreed to stay on for the first two years. I've been here for four years. It's time for me to move on and follow my dreams."

"That's not the only promise you made!"

I run my hand through my hair. "What other promise did I make, Jesy?"

She stands up from her chair and leans forward with her palms flat on her desk. "You promise to be there, Daph!"

I chuckle and shake my head. "Really, Jes? Cause if I remember correctly the promise to be there for you always came from both of us. After that night you spent at my place after your engagement ended you pulled away from me. You barely talked to me, you stopped going out with us, and you started fucking random bitches in your office every week and telling me that I wasn't allowed to leave my desk. I'm not stupid, I know you wanted me to hear you. I don't know if you were trying to make me jealous or what and I honestly don't care. Even though you were treating me as your personal assistant only, I still had your back. I told the girls and your Mom to let you cope in whatever way you needed. That's only reason they haven't told you how they really feel about your behavior for the last two months."

"You remember that night?" She asks quietly.

I was originally gonna make this longer but I'm not in a good headspace and as a result after almost two months of doing good I reverted back to a bad habit and I didn't want to add more to this chapter while I'm not in a good place. I'm working towards getting back to where I was though but it's gonna take some time. And yes I'm using names from my other stories cause I'm just that lazy. I've set up a schedule for myself so hopefully I'll be able to update more frequently but I'm notoriously bad at sticking to schedules so yeah.
