the coffee shop

my first day

You wake up to the sound of your phone going off, you grab it from your bedside table, and turn off your alarm. you get up and get dressed, then you go to your bathroom and put on a little bit of makeup, then you go downstairs and grab a pop tart, "bye bubbas" you say to your dog, and then go get it your car, when you get to the coffee shop you start getting nervous, you take a deep breath and get out to go into the shop.

 When you walk in your boss shows you who Is gonna be training you. its the girl you met yesterday, her name is Layla, she has pink hair, and a fringe, the longer part is pulled back into a ponytail, she's wearing big platform boots and and cute checkered black and white dress, she has eyeliner and a mixture of pink and black eyeshadow on. she starts showing you how to work everything in the shop, you understand right away, then she goes and does her own thing while you start practicing how to make a few drinks, you turn around and there is a guy standing at the front desk, everyone else is busy, so you walk to him, " hello, im y/n how can I help you, sir?" you say with a smile, " just a cold brew please" he says, and you write in onto a piece of paper, so you can go make it, " name for the cup  sir?" you ask, " uh, Karl, with a k" he says, you smile and write it on a cup, turning the cup towards him, earning a nod and smile from him, " alright Karl, it will be out here soon!" you say with a smile, and walk back to the cold brew machine, you make his cold brew and then put a lid on it, walk it to the counter, " Karl, your drink is ready!" you say to the cafe, he walks up to get it and shoots you a smile, then walks back to his table, taking a sip, then giving a face of approval to his cup. I smile and go back to my job.

It's been like 30 minutes, I look around to everyone in the cafe, I see Karl get up and walk back over to me, " can I get another? it was really good" he says, with a smile, " of course, let me get you another, just throw that cup away." I say gesturing to the trashcan, " awesome, thank you!" he says smiling, I make him another and put " Karl with a k" on the side of it, I call him over and hand him his drink, he looks at the name and giggles a little, I laugh, as he walks away to his table again, he opens a laptop and starts working on something, probably collage or something. 

I see him start to pack up, he gets up and notices me looking over at him, he puts his bag over his shoulder then smiles at me and wave, I wave back as he leaves, I go back to work.

After work I go back home, and take a shower, then wash my face, I get ready for bed and then sit at my computer and play some video games and have some music on in the background. when I get bored I grab my phone and go to bed, I put some YouTube on my TV and then get comfy.next thing I know I am being woken up again, I get ready and go to work, of course saying goodbye to my dog first.

I get to the cafe and make myself a drink, then before my shift starts I sit at one of the tables and drink my coffee while scrolling through instagram, once im finished with my drink, I throw the cup away, and then go to work, im working only cash register today, my favorite part of the job.

 " coming right up sir" I say to the man infant of , he goes and sits somewhere, I look down at the register, I look back up, " hey, Karl with a k" I say, as he walks over to the desk, " aye y/n" he says, smiling, " what would you like today, sir?" I ask moving out of the way so he can see the menu clearer, "I want the..hmm..any suggestions?" he says looking back to me, I turn around to the menu, then turn back " I think the hot chocolate is pretty good" I say, "ill take a hot chocolate then!" he says smiling, " can you add extra marshmallows though?" he asks, " yes of course, anything else?" I ask, putting it into the computer, " maybe a blueberry muffin?" he says, I put the muffin on there, "that it?" I ask smiling, " yeah, thank you" he says handing me money, I take it and out it into the cash register, " hey, also, can I buy someone a cake pop?" he asks, " cake pop? for who?" he looks around, then points to an older couple, " two chocolate cake pops for them please" he says handing me some more money, I also take that and put it away, "will do! thanks Karl" I say, he smiles and walks over to the same table as yesterday,  I get the cake pops and take the over to the old couple while his hot cocoa is being made, " hello, how are you enjoying yourselves today?" I ask the older couple, " we are doing just fine thank you" the man says, looking at the women and smiling at her,  he looks back at me, " well, we had someone that bought you two some cake pops. their chocolate, hope you dont mind." I say, holding out the cake pops,  the man takes them, " who payed for these?" he asks sweetly, I point over to Karl, who smiles and waves, they wave back with adorable smiles on their faces, " tell him we said thank you!" he says handing the lady one of the cake pops, and then smiling at her. " will do sir" I say smiling and walk back over the counter to take more orders, Karl walks back over to the counter looking at the lunch part of the menu, hes been here since about 10 am and its now 1:30 pm, I walk over to him, " what can I help you with?" I ask, " I know its not on the menu, but can I get a grilled cheese maybe? I dont like red meat." he says, " ill see what I can do for you, anything else to drink?" I ask smiling, " bring me what you think I should try next" he smiles at me, " im trying to try all the drinks"he says, " ah, I see, it will be right out!" I say, I walk to the back, and ask the cooks if they are able to make grilled cheese, witch they agree with, I have someone make a strawberry drink, I think he will like it. 

after they are done making both the grilled cheese and the drink I walk it over to Karl, " here you go sir" I say setting his drink then his food down, he moves him computer out of the way, " thank you!" he says smiling wide , then looking down at his grilled cheese happily, thats one of the best smiles ive ever seen.

an hour goes by and he walks up to the counter, " hey y/n, can I talk to your boss quick? I have a question for him" he asks, " yeah ill go get him." I say then walk to the back to get my boss, he goes and talks to Karl, then comes over to me, " he said that him and his friends wanna shoot a YouTube video in here, and he wants you to be their waitress, they'll be in here tomorrow around 6:30, I know that after your shift, but this will get us a bit more money so I-" I cut him off.  "ill do it sir, ill be here" I say smiling, " okay, thank you" he says then walks back to his office, I turn around and Karl is standing at the bar and looking at me, he waves me over, he gives you a questioning look, " I said I would be here" I say, he laughs a little, " ayee, lets go!"  he says, " your a YouTuber?" I ask, " my friend jimmy is, I work for him, im in some of the videos, and I do a lot of camera work for him, ever heard of mr.beast?" he asks, my face goes wide, " the mr.beast?!" I ask kinda excited. he nods and looks very proud of himself, " ive never seen you in any of the videos though?" I say with a questioning look, " well, ive mainly been doing camera stuff, ive been in like 2 videos, I used to work for his brother, then I moved over to him cause I became really good friends with one of the people that work for him, his name is Chris." he explains, I nod along and just smile in amazement, " wow, yeah, my little brother loves mr.beast, theres never a moment that hes not talking about him or chandler, he really likes chandler haha" I say laughing a little,   " oh yeah?" he asks, " yeah, this kid is obsessed. he has all the Merch, and posters, and even a mr.beast bed set." I say. " maybe he will be able to meet him, if we become friends." he says with a plotting smile, "oh yea?" I say now putting the same face on, " maybe I can have your number then?" I say, " sure, do you have a piece of paper and a pen?" he asks, I give him a piece of paper then grab a pen from the desk, he writes his number down and hands it to me, I smile at him, he gives me a playful smile, " ill text you after work" I say smiling. he nods and goes back to his seat to clean up, then waves and leaves. after my shift ends I go home, I shoot him a text letting him know its me. all he sends is " pog"  I send a laughing emoji then jump into the shower, after my shower I go to my room, I game a bit, I hear my phone ding, I pick it up, its Karl, " hey y/n, I was wondering if you play video games?" he says, " I do actually, im playing Minecraft right now on my computer" I say audibly smiling, " oh! wanna play together? also, do you have a discord?" he asks, of course I have one, " I do, whats your username?" I ask him, he sends it to me and I add him, we join a video call together, we start playing Minecraft, I have him on my screen, so I can still see him as I play, " do you mind if I stream? your world is pretty cool!" he asks, " stream?" I say, " you dont know what streaming is?-" I shake my head and he laughs "- its where I go live basically, and people watch me play video games, or sometimes, I just sit and talk to them, I have quite a following.." he says, sounding really pationate about it, " oh, thats cool! yeah, I dont mind at all, go ahead, will they be able to hear me?" I say and ask, " they will" he says, looking at his screen focused, im guessing setting it up, "go to a different tab and search up 'twitch' then type karl Jacobs with no space into the search bar, thats me!" he says, you do so. " KARL!! you have 1.8 million followers!!" I say, freaking out,  he starts smiling, then laughs, and then gives me a proud look, " this is so cool!" I say to the webcam, then I look back at my screen and start looking through his twitch account, " this looks fun as heck bro" I say mesmerized. " it really is" he says, smiling, " you should show me how to do this sometime." I say, " im gonna make an account!" I make one and follow Karl, he almost immediately follows me back, after I tell him what my username is. " maybe I will" he says with a big smile on his face, I smile at him. " im fixing to start, im just tweeting it out" he says, I grab my phone and look him up on twitter, I find him eventually, as im looking at his twitter, he starts his stream.
