"Team meeting in 20 minutes!" it echoes through the locker room. Oh sorry, I completely forgot to introduce myself. My name is Julian Launspach and I have been playing for the Adler Mannheim youth team for 2 years. My dream is to make the it into the Adler Mannheim team and play with my role models like Dennis Endras, David Wolf, Matthias Plachta etc. At the team meeting, as the captain, I have the last word. "Men, you know what we have trained. The opponent will not make it easy for us. But if we stand on the ice as a unit, then we will win this game and take the championship. One, two, three. Let's go Mannheim! " it echoes through the cabin. In addition to the scouts who are there every game, the eagle trainer Pavel Gross is also sitting in the stands today. Rumor say that he is looking for young players for the Adler Mannheim Team. The game against the young polar bears from Berlin is tough. After 40 minutes the score is 2:1 for Berliners. It's too quiet in the cabin. "Men you haven't played badly, but we'll try something new for the last 20 minutes. Julian you go in the middle and as soon as you have the puck, you play it to Julian and he goes for a goal. I want to win!" We stand in a circle, like every time before the start of the game and before the last third. I'm always underestimated by my opponents because, i'm very small for an ice hockey player. However, once I have the puck, I can't be stopped anytime soon. Which often brought us to victory in the closing stages. "Let's go Mannheim!" it echoes through the cabin again before it goes into the last third. There are only 2 minutes left on the clock, I see Kevin getting the Puck and then it goes very quickly. He plays the puck to me and off it goes. "Hinterberger with the Puck, quick pass to Launspach and man is he fast, no one can follow. Now he only has the goalkeeper in front of him. Launspach still has the Puck. Shot, The Game is now Tied." "TOOOR for our young eagles! Goal scorer with the number 23 Julian Launspach!" it booms from the announcement boxes. I applaud my teammates. "Let's go another goal, we can do this!" I call out to them. Now there are only a few seconds left until the game is over. Nobody expects a victory anymore. But we make the impossible happen. I get the Puck from Mitchell and I am faster than the anyone of the opponent again and it falls 2:3. Shortly afterwards the horn sounds. We are in each other's arms because this victory means the championship. We go briefly into the cabin so that everything can be prepared for the handover of the trophy. "Well done Julian." My trainer comes up to me. "May I introduce you to Pavel Gross and Marcel Goc from the professionals." "We are looking for such player qualities." That's what Pavel Gross thinks of me. "We would like to invite you and a few other of your teammates to a trial training session. We may be able to take you on to the professional team." Marcel Goc saids. I can't believe it, but I thank both of them. Then I walk towards the ice and wait to be called out, because everyone else is already on the ice. Then I hear the arena speaker say. "The most important player of this team is still missing. With number 23 our captain Julian Launspach." I step on the ice and receive the trophy. I nod to my teammate. They start an alola wave and then I hold up the trophy. A rain of confetti pours over us. My dachshund greets me at home, I go for a little longer walk with him and then I fall into bed dead tired. There is still a training session tomorrow, then there is a two-day break before the professionals go to the trial training.
