Sapphire picks up Vincent from Phoenix Park station again.
Vincent: Hi Sapphire, nice to see you here
Sapphire: Hi Vince, How did last week go?
Vincent: How do you mean?
Sapphire: Was Stacey there... when you got home last Friday?
Vincent: Stacey wasn't there when I got home, but the nurse told me she had visited and Stacey went home soon after Jodie went to her bed.
Sapphire: Oh, has Stacey fallen out with you then?
Vincent: (seriously) May I ask you a very pertinent question, Sapphire, about our relationship?
Sapphire: Of course you may, Vince. What would you like to ask?
Vincent: How far does our 'Pinocchio' deal go?
Sapphire: A 'no strings' deal is just that, Vince. Strings don't stretch far... when there are none. Why do you ask?
Vincent: It's just that last Friday when I told you I wanted Stacey, are you okay with that?
Sapphire: (laughs) A 'no strings' deal is exactly that, Vince. I don't own you... you don't own Sapphire. At any time you're free to walk away... and you're free to go with anyone else if you don't want to be with me.
Vincent: (relieved) That's what I thought, Sapphire. That's exactly as I thought... I just had to ask.
Sapphire: Is this because you want Stacey... instead of Sapphire?
Vincent: Not at all, Sapphire. I want you as we are... but, I realised last week that I want Stacey more.
Sapphire: (she starts the car) Perhaps, that is something we could pillow-talk about tonight?
Vincent: Okay, Sapphire. I second that emotion.
(They go to Sapphire's flat where they slowly undress, as usual, and tenderly make love as they had done previously.)

Sapphire: (afterwards) Okay Vince, spill.
Vincent: Spill? What do you mean spill?
Sapphire: I know this is about Stacey and you, so spill the beans... tell me all about it.
Vincent: Okay, Sapphire. I'll tell you the whole story since last Friday.
Sapphire: I mean it, Vince. No strings mean there are no strings attached between us. Either of us can walk away at any time. No questions asked, okay?
Vincent: Okay Sapphire, that's our relationship as I understand it, Thanks.
Sapphire: So, what happened with Stacey since last Friday? Tell me all the gory details.
Vincent: You want all the gory details?
Sapphire: (giggles) Absolutely, Vince. The gorier the better. Leave nothing out.
Vincent: Okay, Sapphire. When I got home Stacey wasn't there, but, the nurse told me she visited earlier in the evening and stayed talking with Jodie until she went to her bed around 10 pm. then, Stacey left to go home. The nurse said she was the same one who was there last Friday and she asked Stacey if she wanted her to leave, but, Stacey declined and went home instead.
Sapphire: Oh, that's unusual, Vince. You must have, really, upset her last Friday?
Vincent: That's what I figured... I felt really bad at chasing her away. I phoned her house Saturday morning and her husband told me Stacey was busy bathing their kids... if it was urgent he could go get her. I told him not to. I had a talk with him about how Stacey was the previous Friday. He told me - she wasn't happy when she returned home, and, called me a few choice things before she went to sleep. I apologised to him, but, he said he understood the situation with Jodie, and, he didn't want to get involved. I told him that I deeply appreciate what Stacey does for Jodie, and perhaps, I didn't appreciate Stacey enough. I asked him to ask Stacey to call me when she finished with the kids. I didn't have to wait long. Stacey phoned me about 20 minutes later asking what was the matter? I deeply apologised to her for the way I spoke to her the week before and asked her how I could make it up to her?
