Jennie woke up to a noise that she had come to love over the past 3 years. It was the noise that was better than any alarm or any wake-up call.
As she stepped out of bed, she glanced down and saw Jisoo sleeping. 'I'm so lucky' she thought to herself.
As she walked out of the bedroom she shared with her wife to the newly painted pink and yellow room of her daughter, Yeji, the noise Jennie had declared her favorite became louder.
"Good-morning honey" Jennie said as she saw Yeji awake in her bed.
Yeji was a beautiful three-year old with curly blonde hair that framed her tiny face perfectly, and ended right below her chin. Her eyes fiery as cat. She was the exact copy of her parents.
In response, Yeji just happily laughed as she played with the hair on top of the head of the Barbie that Irene had bought her for her third birthday. She never let that doll out of her sight.
Jennie picked up Yeji out of her toddler bed, and brought her back to her bedroom. As she sat Yeji down next to her sleeping mother, she heard her other favorite noise.
"Sit right here Yeji, I'll be right back. And don't wake Mama up." Before she left the room, Jennie turned around and saw her daughter slowly making her way over to her mother.
Right as Jennie turned towards her son's room, she heard Jisoo yell "What the.. Yeji! Good morning sweetie!"
Jennie laughed to herself as she turned into her son's room. She saw Hyunjin playing in the middle of the floor with the blocks that Chaeyoung and Lisa had bought him for his third birthday.
"Hi Hyunjin. How long have you been awake?"
Hyunjin looked just like how Jennie has pictured him. He had dark brown hair that was recently cut short to keep him cool during the hot summer weather. His eyes were as dark as night. Lips plump as ever. He looked identical to his parents, mainly Jisoo.
Hyunjin, not knowing what to answer, just laughed playfully and held a red block up to his mother to show her what he had been doing. Jennie took the block, set it down on the floor with all of the others, picked up her son, and brought him to her bedroom.
When she stepped into her room, she saw Jisoo and Yeji playing around on the bed. Hyunjin tried to wiggle his way out of Jennie's arms. He wanted to play too.
Hyunjin leaped onto the bed to join in on the game his mother and twin sister were playing. There were no rules, just to tickle each other and have a good time. As Yeji leaned back in laughter, she came close to hitting her head on the corner of the night-stand.
"Yeji! Be careful. I don't want to take you to the emergency room today" Jennie said, as a warning to Yeji, and also to Jisoo.
Yeji just looked up at her mother, and immediately started tickling her mother. Jennie just laughed in amusement, as she leaned against her bedroom door frame. How a tiny three year old had so much power over grown woman was beyond her.
"Oh, you think this is funny Jen? Do you really?" Jisoo said, as she darted out of bed towards her wife.
"No, Chu. Not at all." Jennie said, in between fits of laughter.
The Kim twins had watched what their Mama was doing. After they realized it wasn't anything interesting, they went back to tickling each other.
"Good morning, Babe" Jisoo whispered, before she leaned down to give Jennie a quick peck on the lips.
"And good morning to you Chu" Jennie replied, as they broke away from each other.
Jennie and Jisoo turned away from each other to watch their children playing with each other.
"I never thought I'd be this lucky" Jennie whispered, still watching her children.
Jisoo turned back to face her.
"I never would have doubted it."
