After Yeji , Hyunjin, Jisoo and Jennie had showered and gotten dressed, Yeji ran into the bathroom as she watched Jennie apply the last of her make-up.
"Mommy?" she went beside her Mom.
"Yes, Babe?"
"Do you think, since today is my birthday party, that I could wear a little make-up?" Yeji looked at her Mom applying make up.
"I don't know Yeji. Only big girls that promise not to dirty their new dress chasing Mino around get to wear make-up." Jennie knew that the highlight of most of the parties for Yeji was chasing Mino until he was completely out of breath.
"I promise" Yeji said, her eyes growing wide as Jennie pulled out the tube of lip gloss that she got for her birthday from Lisa.
"Ok, only a little bit. And we're not going to make a habit of this make-up wearing. Only today, because its your birthday" Jennie said, as she applied a small amount of the shiny gloss to her daughter's tiny lips. "Ok, there you go, sweetie." With a little help from Jennie , Yeji propped herself up and looked in the mirror of the medicine cabinet.
"Ooooh, its so pretty" Yeji said, as she kept smacking her lips together, enjoying the feeling of the gloss.
"Now let me get finished, or we'll never get out of here." Chaeyoung had decided that since Jisoo and Jennie's house was too small for the party, that she would have it at her house.
Yeji walked out of the bathroom into the living-room where her father and twin brother were sitting. She sat down, practically on top of Jisoo. She grabbed her Mama's face in her hands and brought it close to hers.
"Mama, look."
"What am I looking at, sweetie?" At this, Yeji smacked her lips together for what seemed like the hundredth time in the last two minutes. "Oh Yeji, it looks absolutely beautiful on you. Did Mommy do that?"
"Yeah, she said since today was my birthday party I could wear some."
"And she also had to promise not to ruin her dress while torturing Mino." Jennie said, walking into the living-room. Jisoo laughed at the comment, remembering the Christmas party where Yeji didn't leave Mino alone. Even when he went to the bathroom, she sat outside the door waiting patiently for him to come out.
She marveled at how nice her family looked. It wasn't every day that they all got dressed up nicely.
Yeji was the first to be dressed. She had on a brand new dress that Jennie had bought especially for the occasion. It was a pink, sleeveless dress that ended right below her knee. The bottom of the dress had yellow and purple embroidered flowers, which matched the flowers on her new white shoes.
Yeji's least favorite part of the outfit was the white stockings Jennie insisted on her wearing. Her curls had been controlled, and some were held loosely on top of her head with a pink clip. She epitomized the ideal four year old girl.
Jennie had tried her best to make Hyunjin's outfit match Yeji's somewhat. Hyunjin had on a black jacket, with matching slacks. The shirt Hyunjin wore underneath the jacket was the same shade of pink as Yeji's dress.
Jennie thought ahead of time, and instead of buying shoes that had to be tied, she opted for black Velcro shoes. Jisoo had told her not to buy shoes that had to be tied because Hyunjin always seemed to get them untied, and eventually he walked around with no shoes on. His hair had been brushed back, and after much begging and pleading, Jisoo put a little touch of aftershave on her son. Hyunjin looked like the ideal four year old boy.
Jisoo had worn clothes that had not been newly bought, since Jennie had neglected to buy anything for her due to the fact that she simply forgot and mainly focused on the twins.
