"Step on the fucking pedal now!" Tristan clenched his jaw, but complied anyway. Time was ticking by fast and any moment now, Kiara could step on the plane and be lost forever.

I needed to see her, to touch her, to kiss her. I needed to wrap my arms around her tight and in turn I needed her support. She was my strength, the reason I tried to change into a better man.

She helped me turn into a man I was proud to be and I feared for the monster I would soon become without her.

Tristan parked slanted on the pavement, but neither of us had time to care, as we jumped out of car and started sprinting towards the flight board.

I scanned the orange writing, cursing the hundred of people trying to push their way past me, until I found it. Gate 6A.

On our race to find Kiara, we stumbled upon a pair of very shocked and confused parents. My anger was getting the best of me, fuelling up my entire body so when I noticed Ryder's smug face, Tristan was forced to haul me back.

"I'm sorry," Gabi mumbled, shooting me an apologetic glance. There seemed to be something deeper behind her meaning, but I shook it off as we sprinted through JFK in search of my Princess.

My heart stopped when we found no-one, but then there was a flash of mahogany curls, and an ass I would recognised from the fucking moon.

She was just about to board her plane, when I screamed out her name aloud so the entire world could hear my claim on this girl.

Her entire body stiffened and she didn't even turn as we both approached her slowly. I was too afraid to touch her, scared that this wasn't real, it was some sick fantasy I had concocted inside my head.

Fortunately, she turned and my heart did a fucking summersault inside my chest. She was beautiful.

Her eyes seemed heavy and tired, and she looked as though she was carrying the whole world on her shoulders. Her body was donned in an old jumper and a pair of cheap leggings she must have bought from the nearest supermarket, yet still she was perfect.

"What are you both doing here?" She finally managed to breath out, and I relished in the sound of her voice. The voice I almost thought I would never hear again.

"Stopping you from making the biggest mistake of your life." The words left me before I could even register them. Her lips parted in shock, eyes wide with fear.

"Excuse me, are you boarding the plane Miss?" She turned to the flight attendant and smiled. It was fake though, I could recognise it from a mile away.

"Could I have some time?" He scoffed rudely, sending a sharp glare Tristan's and I's way.

"You have fifteen minutes, then the plane will leave." I wished he said no, so the plane would fly off wherever it was going and my Princess would be forced to stay here with me.

Then I realised how absolutely absurd that sounded. She could always choose another flight and forcing her to stay was wrong.

Good for me, but wrong. I couldn't do that, no matter what.

"Thank you." Kiara muttered, but the bastard was already gone. "Fifteen minutes." She repeated to us and we both sucked in a sharp inhale of air.

How the fuck were we supposed to do this? Were we saying goodbye? Convincing her to stay? I knew where I stood on the subject but Tristan...fuck knows.

We looked at each other, as if both reading each other's mind at the same time. Then suddenly he took a step forward.

"Baby-girl, I don't know what's happening right now. I don't know why you are leaving, or where too but I need you to really think about this. I need you to think about everything that has happened. Are you really ready to just drop everything and leave?"
