K I A R A ' S P.O.VFate is a funny thing. Sometimes it has the ability to draw two people together, and sometimes it has the ability to destroy them too. In my case, it was both.
"Kiara sweetie, you're going to be late for school."
Snapping out of my thoughts, I swung my bag over my shoulder and grabbed my pair of Chanel sunglasses. I slipped on my black pumps and then made my way downstairs.
The scent of sizzling bacon and eggs wafted around my huge house. My mum was already in the kitchen, placing bread into the toaster with one hand and cooking the bacon and eggs with the other.
She was a super mum.
Her job as a stay at home mum, whilst married to a millionaire might seem easy but trust me,
it wasn't. Especially not with my three older brothers and me to look after.Despite having more than four children, all whom are 18 or over, she still looked as beautiful as ever. Her wavy locks were a perfect shade of mahogany brown, her smooth skin barely had any wrinkles and there was always a small smile gracing her face.
I got lucky with my genetic gene pool, and inherited my mother's perfect nose, her gorgeous hair and my father's dark eyes and lips.
My brothers were already scoffing down plates full of food to which I simply wrinkled my nose at in disgust.
Kalen, 21, was my second oldest brother. He was probably the most relaxed out of all of us and somehow didn't inherit our father's explosive temper, unlike the rest of us.
Kai was 19, making him only a year older than me. Don't tell the others but he's kind of my favourite.
We act and look a lot like twins, not just due to our similar ages but also because of our love of The Vampire Diaries and many more Netflix shows. He's also the person I trust most in the world.
Then finally there's Kieron, the oldest.
Kieron was...responsible and scary, definitely scary. He was my dad's doppelgänger in every way, personality and all. Despite loving me deeply, Kieron was by far the most over-protective out of my brothers and constantly tried to surveillance my life.
He was also next in line to the mafia throne when my dad finally retires.
Oh did I forget to mention that part? Yes, my father is a mafia don, and also one of the most powerful and influential people in New York, making me a princess.
Correction, mafia princess. And I own that title.
Grabbing an apple, I pecked each of my brothers on the cheek and then walked over to say goodbye to my mum.
"Why are you wearing that thick jumper Kia?" I subconsciously tugged on the bottom of my hoodie, hoping to hide the contents underneath.
"The heaters in school are all broken mum, I don't want to catch a cold." I also inherited my dad's swift ability to lie.
Comes in handy sometimes, especially when you grew up in a household like mine.
"Okay Kia, have a great day." I mirrored her smile and pressed a kiss to her cheek, before walking out.
"Bye Kiwi." My three annoying brothers sang in harmony. I stopped at the threshold and huffed.
They knew exactly how much I hated that.
Spinning around I graced them all with my middle finger, and then ran out as my mother began to scream at me. I hopped into my red Lamborghini and sped off into the distance, leaving the scolding for when I return.
