POINT OF VIEW KYRA
I LOOKED AT THE RINGING PHONE, looks like Rachel made up her mind. Letting it ring for sometime, I finally picked it up.
Before I could talk however, I heard her speak, "I'm ready" she said and before I could respond, the line went dead.
I took my phone from the side of my ear and stared down at it in surprise and after a few seconds, I smiled. She chose right.
Time to get some revenge.
Walking over to the desk, I picked up the file that read 'Classified' on the front in big bold red letters.
"I'm finally going to get my revenge", I muttered and looked at myself in the mirror.
"Are you sure that'll happen?" I heard my brother's voice ask from behind me. Jason. He was something I couldn't leave behind. I understood where my mother had come from, but I was my father's child. I didn't understand my mother. I understood my father's reasoning when it came to AYRA. In a way him and us were treated the same way unlike Cassandra Holden. Our mother never changed her last name for my father.
"It has to Jase" I snipped. I was done with my brother being a pessimist.
"Well, at least the plan can go forward" another voice muttered. Aaron Smith. The boy had one job to do, get a hold of his girl. But she wouldn't answer his calls nor was he brave enough to go face her.
"You had one job to do" I seethed. "And you failed, so don't use that tone with me" I narrowed my eyes and pointed my finger at him.
He gulped and put his hands upwards in a surrender position.
"What's the plan again?" Jason asked, his voice filled with uncertainty.
"I don't like repeating myself brother" I snapped, "Figure it out yourself" I said and walked out of the room, not interested to be in the company of two morons.
AYRA was going to fall. I wanted them to beg for mercy for what they did to my father and naïve mother.
I sent a text message to Rachel, telling her to yet again meet me at the café. I needed to begin phase two of the plans.
Walking out, I'm yet again stopped by one of the idiots.
"Can I... see her?" Aaron whispered and looked at me.
I almost melted. Almost.
He had screwed up big time three years ago and I wasn't going to stand here and watch him make more mistakes. It took a lot of work to get out of prison.
I covered my face with a passive expression and walked ahead, not giving him an answer.
"I'll stand at a distance!" I heard him scream, "She won't even notice I'm there".
I heard his running footsteps inching closer to me by the minute so I turned around to glare at him.
To my surprise he did not seem to care that I was glaring at him.
"Please" He begged.
Looking up at the ceiling, I rolled my eyes.
"Come on" I said and he smiled.
