Tutoring

Jimin is just a few minutes away from banging his head on the nearest wall, he is almost pulling all his hairs to the verge of going bald and cursing his stars for the moment he agreed to teach this buff bunny like human in front of him. He had spent last 30 mins making the boy in front of him to understand a simple equation, first he thought may be the equation is difficult or may be physics is not everyone's cup of tea but now he is down right convinced that the boy is plain stupid. He realized he needs to take a different approach to teaching, else this bunny looking boy in front of him will be the biggest failure of his tutoring career.

Jimin is sure he must have done something really bad in his past life for him to go through this torture. He remembered the day he met this buff bunny human, Jeon jungkook like it was yesterday. It was in his freshman year in College, as Jimin was really good in studies and was given admission with a full scholarship ride, he became every teacher's favorite almost in no time. He would always be involved in every academic activity, quizzes, olympiads and projects. He also started tutoring his fellow students as well. During one of those College events he first met him, the college boxing champion Jeon jungkook. His first impression of Jungkook was, he looks like a bunny human. Jimin really thought with his bunny teeth and doe eyes, it was just impossible for him to be a boxer, but these assumptions were short lived. Within a couple of hours he witnessed who Jeon Jungkook was, a typical college fuckboy and a big bully. Since then Jimin has tried his best to stay as far away from Jungkook as possible but fate had something else in mind.

Now Jimin is in Junior year in college, he is a straight A student and the student body president. Everything was going great for him, until it wasn't. He remembered being called in by his physics professor to the faculty common room. As soon as he entered the 1st person his eyes landed was The college boxing champion, whom he tried his best to avoid from the last 2 years. The next thing he heard really made him curse his stars. The professor informed him that Jungkook is failing Physics and he needs a decent grade in that subject for their college to allow him to participate in the State level Boxing Tournament. The professor informed Jimin that he is the best contender to tutor Jungkook. At first Jimin denied tutoring Jungkook, but the professor convinced him that this arrangement will even benefit Jimin with extra credit grades.

And that is how Jimin finds himself just a few minutes away from getting bald or banging his head on the nearest wall.

This was almost their third tutoring session and they are still at square one. They have made zero to no progress at all. Jungkook is too reluctant to learn anything from Jimin. He was just a few weeks away from his State Level Tournament and it made no sense why he needed grades in Physics to represent their college. With each passing session both there frustrated were leading to a breaking point, the tension between both of them are so thick that you can almost cut it with a knife.

Jungkook never liked Jimin, he always knew him as a rude and arrogant person who is always way too much in his head. He continued the same prospective he had for Jimin in these tutoring sessions as well. His hate for the said subject was also not adding a good flavor to the mix as well. Jungkook always hated Physics from the core of his being, but he had to opt for a science subject to all up to his grades and Physics looked like a better subject than organic Chemistry or Plant Anatomy. He still thinks that if he might have paid some attention in class when the professor was teaching he might have spared from this tutoring torture.

Jimin tried everything that he could to make Jungkook learn the basic equations and implementations which will help him in the exam but nothing was working out in his favor. Jungkook was just too reluctant to learn anything. He was way to near his breaking point and it was that day when he finally gave up. After 3 sessions when Jimin realized that his tutoring is not helping Jungkook at all, he finally banged his hands on the desk and stood up. That noise really made a commotion in the silence library and he found a few pairs of eyes on him, he bowed and apologized. He made a streamline exit from there and dragged a confused Jungkook with him as well. Once they were outside the library he started speaking, " See, this is not working out."

" I am not sure if it the way I teach is getting difficult for you to understand or you are just plain right stupid." Jimin blurred out.

"Did you just call me stupid?" Jungkook asked, being offended.

"This is Level A Physics that I was trying to teach you and which was so difficult for you to understand, so tell me did I do anything wrong calling you stupid." Jimin countered.

"I hate this subject, it's just so difficult to understand," Jungkook admitted.

"Clearly this is not working out, I have already wasted so much time on you I can't continue this anymore. Teaching you is not good for my mental health." Saying that Jimin left the library premises leaving a very confused Jungkook standing there.

Jimin snapping shocked him, he never thought he was being this much difficult to deal with. Somehow watching Jimin leave him standing in front of the library made the reality sink in to him. He was failing his classes and he needs those grades to represent his college in the State level Tournament and Jimin is the only one who can help.

He felt embarrassed of himself, he was aware of the effort Jimin was putting in to tutor him. The very next thing on his mind was to apologize to Jimin and ask him for a next chance. He was reluctant that he was gonna try his best this time and make sure to pay attention to Jimin's teaching.

He waited 2 days to reach out to Jimin. On the other hand Jimin was furious, he was well aware that Jungkook is not taking these tutoring sessions seriously and he already wasted so much time on the boxer.

When Jungkook finally gathered his courage to reach out to Jimin, he was faced with radio silence. Jimin was damn right adamant that he was not going to entertain Jungkook in any form. But his consistency and stubborn ass convinced Jimin for just one more tutoring session in the library.

The next day when Jimin reached for their session, he met a rather chirpy Jungkook and a grande cup of coffee. They had a really serious conversation about how important these grades are for Jungkook and how much effort Jimin is putting in these sessions and finally when they started studying, that said session was their first success.

After a few more sessions, both of them can feel the unreasonable likeness they were feeling for each other. They started enjoying each other's company. Jungkook cherishes those moments when his right answers make Jimin praise him or when his spontaneous reaction makes Jimin giggly. Jimin adores those perky compliments Jungkook gives him when he teaches him a tough equation or difficult theories. Over time Jimin realized how passionate Jungkook is for boxing, like every time he mentioned boxing his eyes would start twinkling.

By the time their examination approached, they shared a really well balanced chemistry in their sessions. Jungkook knew what Jimin's favorite coffee was, who his favorite music band was , what his go to stress relief options were. In the same way Jimin noticed Jungkook's strengths and weaknesses, and his passion.
