𝐈𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 a few days since Beatrix had been incarcerated, Riven had been staying in my dorm for the majority of the time, in an attempt to avoid Sky and his big-brother lectures. But that didn't matter, seeing as Sky was spending every waking moment with Bloom. It made me slightly upset knowing that Stella just left school and he's moving on like it doesn't even bother him.
Riven, on the other hand, was becoming almost too much to deal with. He's been a fucking mess, and all he wanted to do was get high with Dane and me or have sex. I understood that everything that happened with Beatrix was hurting him, but he wouldn't admit it or talk about it at all. He was heading down an even more destructive path, and I don't have the strength to constantly keep him afloat.
It also didn't help that Burned One's Training had started this week, and lucky me I had gotten paired with Riven as my Specialist. I loved spending time with him and being together, but you could tell he was trying to distract himself from the war that was going on inside of his mind.
Meanwhile, I've been having night terrors and sleep paralysis every night since Beatrix got locked up.
It's the same dream every time, and I can't figure out if it's a suppressed memory or my mind just playing tricks on me. It starts in a small village by the sea, and there's a military battalion unit from Alfea and another from the Solarian Army. They were looking there at the rubble of the village, it looked like it got blown up by some sort of mass explosion. Everything was silent then you hear a baby cry out. The Alfeian Battalion's Leader then turns towards the Solarian's and with a wave of her hand, she uses her magic to snap all of their necks. Then she reaches down into the debris and pulls two crying babies out of the rubble. That's when I wake up every time. It's been driving me mad, I can't stop thinking about it. In the dream, it's like I'm seeing through someone else's eyes the entire time.
Once I snapped out of my thoughts, I was greeted with the familiar sound of the wind blowing through the Cypress trees that surrounded Alfea's barrier. I was currently laying down in one of the specialist fields they use to train in, just staring at the stars, trying to think and make sense of everything that has happened in my life recently. it feels like everything has done a full 180° ever since the school year started.
