tapping's of keyboards filled the silence in the management floor. some were still working from their night shift to morning while others had newly arrived. either way the energy of everyone working was filled with a sense of gloom and dread. the comfort of their bed was what kept them going through this day.

what made it worse was that it had been snowing. a year had pasted since the last autumn and everything had been calm due to the fact that the company was not in need of scouting new talents just yet.

a woman who sat in a separated office had her desk covered from paper files that were all in need of finishing. another night without sleep [y/n] could do with ease she supposed. things were not going to get themselves done alone.

cracking her fingers in all the possible joints she could pop, she stretched as best as she could on the spinning chair and began to read over the papers that had taken residence on her wooden desk, covering her once green plants.

she seemed to be in the zone, unnoticing a couple of knocks coming from the door. she broke out of the daze as she heard the door open, looking to see a friend of hers entering the room.

"jeez [y/n], you look worse than my brother's puppetting career~!" retz commented on the ceo's appearance. over the year her rank had risen, the previous ceo giving full responsibility to the [h/c] woman.

she could only sigh in response, too tired to even open her mouth. her eyes felt heavy as her shoulders ached. her back had felt uncomfortable and she was 100% sure that every problem she had would be solved with a good nights rest.

"hey [y/n]! wake-y! wake-y! you can't rest now, not while there's still work to be done. i know you feel tired to talk so i brought you your favorite food so spare me the pleading look."

[y/n] looked to the blonde woman in front of her. retz had her hair in a mullet, looking fresh and polished. omo, her 12 month baby rested on his mother's hips, taking a peaceful nap that you would kill to have.

seeing retz place down a brown bag of your favorite restaurant, you saw her hand out a water bottle, you grabbing it hastily and chugging it. your mouth felt comfortable to talk now.

"oh my god you saved my life retz. aweeee look at omo here~!" you coo'ed to the baby gently, not to wake him up. retz just smiled from the exchange, pushing the paper bag towards your direction.

"eat and take a break for a few minutes. also, i saw that blue eyed boy you talked about; he seems very lonely without you." you in return gave her a glare, retz just smirked and waved one hand dismissably, "don't look at me like that, you prove my point even more so!"
