*Emery's POV*
"And what exactly went through your heads when you both decided to start a food fight?"
The annoying voice of the prissy pink lady rung in my ears. How am I even suppose to answer that? 'Oh I just felt like it'.
Fred, who sat right next to me in the office, finally spoke up: "I didn't start it".
Typical. What a fucking little-
"But you engaged in it Mr. Weasley. I am afraid both of you will require some consequences for your actions," Dumbledore's naturally calm voice spoke up.
After pausing for a moment to recollect his thoughts, the bearded man continued, "You will both serve 3 weeks worth of detention, along with personally cleaning the Great Hall with no magic".
I sat there trying to keep my mouth from gaping open like a fish out of water. The idea of serving detention or cleaning was by no means any big deal, but it was the person that I was stuck with that made it an issue.
Umbridge spoke up with irritation lingering in her nastily sweet voice, "Don't you think that is a little light of a punishment for the committed assault? They could most definitely slack off or create even more trouble".
Before Dumbledore could communicate any form of an answer, Snape quickly interfered, "No, I find that to be a legitimate and reasonable punishment. I will personally be overseeing the pair over the next following weeks so I can assure you they will act accordingly".
When I heard Snape vouch for us not to have more of a punishment, I was truly shocked. The man was known for enjoying and relishing in the routine torture of students that annoyed him. It was surprising to hear that he was even willing to give up his time to watch us.
Interrupting my thoughts, Dumbledore finally continued, "Very Well. You both best start cleaning to have the Great Hall spotless by lunch".
Without any other words, Fred stormed out of the office, obviously enraged. I quietly thanked the professors and headmaster for their time before making my way to the Great Hall.
Although I should have been thinking about how I was going to make up the work I was missing, my mind wondered onto other things. Specifically, other people.
During the fight, I couldn't help but look at my opposing redhead in a different perspective. When I was on top of him, I saw something in him that I never saw before. It was as if it were the first time I ever truly saw him.
More importantly, I felt something I had never felt before.
Being the awkward weirdo I am, I just grabbed a nearby pie and shoved it into his face. I didn't want him to see the way I was looking at him. That loser would never let me live it down.
Being with him in general usually makes me bold, but ever since that one day on the train, I have to mask up my nerves with false confidence. He lights something within me and I feel like it's the first time I've ever really felt it truly ignite.
I snapped myself out of my own thoughts when I finally approached the Great Hall. I wearily opened the grand to doors to reveal a maddening mess sprawled in front of me.
