VENELOPES POV

"I'm going to New York with the job" mom said at breakfast.

"When are you going?" I said, use to that she always leaves me, for business trips.

"Today" mom says

"Wait what?" I said. Why does she NEVER tell me ANYTHING?

"I'm sorry, I found out last night and you got home so late I..."

"Mom just stop leaving me every day"

Mom goes to New York once a month, and I'm tired of it.

"I'm sorry Venelope. It's just so hard with the money right now"

"I don't care"

"Do you think you can stay at Isabelle's?" Mom says, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, sure" I say loud, then i tramp away from there , into my room and take my bag, and runs out the door.

"Venelope..!" I heat my mom scream when I slam the door behind me.

School starts in half and hour, so I ran to Kian's house.

Just when I was about to knock, i remembered that we kissed yesterday, so I started walking to school.

I don't have a car, I don't even have an license. When I was about to take it, dad and Jackson died.

I hadn't gone very far when I heard someone yell at me.

"Venelope!"

Oh shit. It was Kian

I turned around.

"Hiiii "I said with an sarcastic voice.

"Want a ride?"

"I rather walk"

"I'll walk with you" he says and smiles.

"Not again" I said fast.

"Hey, i heard that"

"i'm sorry but it's just that..."

"I kissed you"

"Oh and that never happened" I said, then i walked away from him.

He ran up to me and grabbed my arm.

"venelope! Why do you hide everything? Why are you so awesome at one time and then you just shut me out and pretend like nothing happened?"

"Stop talking to me!" I said, and he let me go.

"No, Venelope, i know you like me. Why can't you just admit it? Why are you so scared?"

HE says and i can feel tears running down my cheeks.

"Because if i like you, i will end up hurt. And my body can't deal with more pain right now" i say and Kian hugs me.

"I'm sorry Venelope"

I pull me out of his thight grip, and i walk away from him, the opposite way.

"Are you gonna skip school?" he shouts behind me.

"Yup!" i reply.

I walked home, because i know mom wasnt home.

I went to the bathroom to take my makeup off, and after that i went to change to sweats. i put my hair in a bun and then i went to the living room and turned on Disney channel.

I watched Shake it up.

After about two hours I took my penny board to the store, to buy some ice cream.
