The fallen branches and leaves cracked underneath Ainsley's feet as the boy ran to his house. The wind was whistling through the trees, matching its sound with the screeches of inhuman beings that wandered amongst the woods. He was running out of breath, every inhale was painful for the lungs and every step sent a stinging feeling throughout his body, but he had to keep going. He had to reach his house and turn on the damn lamp.
There was a soul-wrenching screech in the woods, which told Ainsley they were near. They were coming for him. Coming for his soul.
Finally, he could see the silhouette of his house, standing lonely in the middle of the forest, waiting for him. Ain was already feeling relief — he was almost home! Almost...few more meters....just..a..little bit.
but won't you look at that? something is in the backyard.
Ainsley lost color on his face, his fear drenched his soul and lured every creature of the forest to come for him, come for a delicious treat only for them. He was damned....

They are peaceful, thank every deity. Ainsley made it to the house, but it wasn't safe yet. He needed the lamp. Young witch rummaged through every shelf and drawer, every room but his fear just blinded everything in front of him.
—"Where the FUCK is this damn lamp?!"

A deep, low voice threaded the room, drawing the attention of a scared boy. Ain rushed to the fireplace where a round orb-like lamp was placed atop. The boy took it and switched the trigger, the lamp lit up, and Ain finally sighed with relief. He tugged the appliance into his chest, hugging it while his back slid down the fireplace wall and he ended up on the floor. Tears pricked blue eyes as hands shook, but at least he was safe.
