"Daria, I swear to god-" Leo heard Percy yell. Leo was on deck, so he didn't understand how he could hear the son of the Sea God argue down by the cabins, but he didn't dwell on it too much.
A door slammed and Leo shared a glance with Frank as they unsuccessfully craned to hear Daria's muffled reply. Nothing like a sunny sky, warm breeze, and World War III to start your day.
Jason for his part didn't seem too affected by the most powerful demigods to walk the earth screaming at each other. Well, Percy was screaming, Daria just seemed to be annoying the hell out of him quietly. "Morning," he chirped, holding a paper cup of coffee in his left hand.
"Wish I could say that," Frank grumbled. "I'm gonna go find Hazel." He lumbered off in his Frank way, though why he would want to travel towards the chaos escaped Leo's understanding.
"You're enjoying this," Leo accused his best friend. "Look at you, you're smiling!"
His lip twitched in an effortlessly cool way that made Leo jealous. "Am not."
"Are too!"
Jason sipped his drink, but the twinkle in his eye gave it away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Bro-"
"My favorite boys," Piper interrupted them. "What meaningless argument are we having today?"
"Piper," Leo said seriously. But then Jason stuck his tongue out at him, so he had to sidetrack. "Yeah, real mature, man. Piper, tell me that Jason doesn't like it when Daria and Percy argue."
Piper raised her eyebrows like she was moderating a debate. "Jason, your response?"
"Yeah, maybe." He grinned into his cup of coffee.
"Oh, so she gets an answer out of you!" Leo pointed. "La bruja!"
Piper frowned. "Did you just call me a witch?"
Jason made his coffee cup fly through the air so that it perfectly landed in the bin next to where they were docked. Leo scowled. Of course, Mr. Superman had chosen recycling.
Jason threw his left arm around Leo's shoulders. "When we get back to camp, I'm gonna find you a girlfriend."
"Or boyfriend," Piper added.
"Or boyfriend," Jason agreed. He was several inches taller and was about seven times more muscular than Leo was, so he knew that escape was futile, but that didn't stop him from trying.
"I'm not gay," he struggled. "Get off of me!" Jason and Piper shared a look over his head.
"Um," Daria's voice appeared though Leo couldn't see her. "This looks an awful lot like bullying."
Jason let go of Leo suddenly, causing him to stumble while he gained his bearings. "Piper started it."
"That means you're a bystander, Jay." Daria crossed her arms. "And also, I don't believe you." She fist bumped Piper.
"Yeah," Piper confirmed.
By now, the rest of the crew had made their way up to the deck; anyone who was asleep had probably been woken up by Percy and Daria. Strangely enough, their meaningless yelling at each other was less peculiar than them being nice. Leo didn't think much of it.
"You guys should get a move on," Annabeth said. Percy's arm was wrapped around her, but he was scowling at Daria, who was childishly scowling back.
Hazel exhaled, "I'm sensing some bad stuff at the bottom of the stairs. You guys sure you don't want me to come along?"
"We'll be good," Leo looked back at his crewmates. "Well, maybe not Jason because he sucks. But we've got Beauty Queen and Torpe."
