"Wake up, kid!" I heard someone speak, but I just turned around, ignoring them as I carried on sleeping. Bad mistake as my whole body began to shake; I thought we were in an earthquake until I opened my eyes to see Gojo. "What are you doing?" I sleepily asked as I sat up, stretching my arms.

"You need to go for training now; the others are waiting", my eyes widen as I stand up. Maki was gonna kill me. Quickly I packed up my stuff, my body still ached, but I would manage. "What's happening?" a tired Yuji spoke as he watched me grab all my things. "I need to go", I rushed out before giving him a kiss on the head. "Bye!" I shouted as I ran up the stairs and down the hallway in my pyjamas.

I turned the corner to the first year's dorms and spotted both Nobara and Megumi. Both of them turned, and I froze, "um, hi", I awkwardly spoke as I tried to hurry into my room without any questions but was stopped. "Where did you go?" Nobara asked worriedly as Megumi looked me up and down, "why are you in your pj's?" My hands felt sweaty as I tried to wipe them on my bottoms.

"Just a run," I said. I rushed into my room, closing the door behind me, I didn't want to lie, but I had to for Yuji.

Once I was all ready, the three of us walked to where we would meet our upperclassmen. "Can we stop to get a drink at the vending machine?" Nobara asked as both of us nodded our heads. We reached the machine, and I decided to get a drink as well, "can't they up the number of vending machines a bit" the girl beside me asked as I shrugged. "There's no way that's happening. After all, vendor entry is limited around here," Megumi informed us as we let out a sigh.

I'm glad they weren't asking me any more questions about this morning because that would be awkward.

Hearing footsteps approaching, I stood up from my crouched position, "someone's coming." I announced just as two figures appeared, a boy and a girl. "Why are you here in Tokyo, Zenin-senpai?" Megumi asked the girl; my eyes widened. That was Maki's sister, the one with cursed energy but the aura I was getting from her was nothing like her sisters. She was bad news.

"Your classmate died, right? Was it painful?" I could see both Megumi and Nobara's body tense up. Nobara glanced over in my direction; my mark was still covered. "For that kind of filthy non-human to rudely call himself a shaman next to you, you were repulsed by it, right?" She spoke with a smile as I was growing angry with each word this girl spoke. Stepping back and into the shadows, no one noticed, "aren't you relieved he's dead?" My two classmates looked behind at me, but I was already gone and had appeared behind her.

With my power, I can teleport through shadows; I just have to make sure I don't get lost in the dark. She opened her mouth to speak again when she received a hard kick from me. The guy next to her gasped, "I didn't even feel her presence." When I went into the shadows, I began a shadow, and shadows don't have any presence.

Maki\s sister fell to the ground behind Megumi and Nobara as I walked over to her, "don't talk about people you don't know." She tried to stand up, but my shadows had already taken control over her movement. "It's rude!" I shouted before kicking her in the stomach "(Y/N)!" Nobara called my name. Removing my shadows, letting the girl move freely.

"Mai, you talk about worthless things. I just wanna know if these guys are worthy replacement for Okkotsu." I felt a tick on my forehead; how dare he say that someone dying is worthless. "Fushiguro, what's your type?" I stood frozen by his question. "My type is a really tall woman with big butts!" freezing by his statement, slightly feeling insecure. I wonder what Yuji's type is.

"As long as that person has a moral compass that isn't easily swayed, I don't wish for anything else" Megumi spoke honestly as the girls awed at his answer, impressive. In contrast, Toudou didn't look at all happy, "you're boring, Fushiguro."

Immediately Toudou came rushing at Megumi, sending him flying into a wall, "Megumi!" Nobara and I shouted for the boy, turning back to her to see Mai behind Nobara with a gun pointed at her stomach. I need to help her first, then I'll go lend a hand to Megumi. Stepping into the shadows once more and appearing behind but she turned to me with a smile. The gun was directly pointed at me, but I didn't fear it.

I've been through worse situations.

"You can't pull the same trick on me twice, (L/N)" rolling my eyes at the name. I hated that name and always insisted everyone call me by my first name.

She shot at me, but before the bullet could hit me, Nobara ran in front, saving me, "Nobara!" I called for the girl as she laid on the ground. Rushing to her side, "why did you do that? I could have handled it," I asked her as I checked on her wound to see she will live. "(Y/N); you've been through a lot. I didn't want you to be in more pain," Nobara spoke through the pain. I froze at her words; no one has ever been this kind to me to take the pain away.

"What are you doing?" I turned to the left to see Maki standing there; seeing the twin sisters standing there, you could see how much they looked alike.

"Can she stand?" Maki asked, but as I turned back to Nobara, she had disappeared and had her body wrapped around Mai. Trapping her from moving, I guess that's one way to do it.

"We're going home, Mai," Toudou said as the both of them began walking away from us. However, before they were out of our sight, Toudou looked over his shoulder and winked. I would like to think it wasn't at me.

"Maki, is it true that you don't have magical powers?" I stopped in my movement to look between the two. Maybe I thought Maki would not want to speak about herself like Megumi, but in fact, she told Nobara.

"(Y/N)!" I heard a shout, and a shiver rushed down my spine; it was her. The monster. She appeared in front of me with the help of the shadows before kicking me in the stomach. I went flying towards a wall, but Maki saved me. "Thanks",, she nodded as her eyes watched my mother march up to us.

"You stay out of this! You're an embarrassment to your family; stay away from my daughter!" My mother shouted while pointing in Maki's direction, "Maki, get out of her sight now!" I scream for her in fear of the familiar move. Maki listened to me, and she missed the black hole that was opening where she once stood.

I let out a sigh that she was saved, but I wasn't out for the clear; why was she here? "You bitch! You ruined the marriage; is everything a joke to you! Why can't you just do as you're told?" She raised her hand to hit when the principal of the school showed up.

"Lasy (L/N), I would advise you to leave the school at once or else we will have to take measures", he spoke politely as he helped me stand up. "That girl is mine! No one can stop me!" Mother roared out before doing as she was told, not wanting to ruin the relationship she has with the school.

"I'll be back, and you'll be sorry forever, misbehaviour!"

Nobara came over to me and took me from the principal; I thanked him before he went off. "Who was that? She looked like a demon," Nobara asked.

"That was my mother."
