The Art of Letting Go

I look up at the azure sky,
Trying my best not to cry;
Memories of you flooding in my mind,
Wondering if what I did was right.

Years of love that we have shared,
Now all is gone, no trace was left;
Been asking myself the same question for long,
What happened, why did everything went wrong?

I used to think that our love will last,
That all the storms, we will surpass;
But how can I fight for a love?
That was never mine from the very start?

I smiled bitterly as I remember you,
And all the things you tried to do;
But even if I was there, I always knew
That deep within, I never belonged to you.

Tell me, how can I fight?
For a love that isn't right?
Call me foolish, call me a coward
But I know I'll never have your heart.

And so I did, what I knew was right,
To let you go after that night;
So you can chase the love of your life,
Even if it means, I'm dying inside.
