F3: Meeting The Alpha

"Where did you go?" Carlisle asked with his arms crossed while leaning in the front door of their abode. "You lost track of time?"

"Yes," Jennie retorted as she tried to enter the house but he suddenly blocked her way with his two big hands.

"You didn't even greet the visitors a while ago. What's wrong with you?" he asked, making her chuckled and crossed her arms as she raised her left eyebrow. The brat Jennie is a mode on again.

"My mom said I should never talk to strangers. So please, excuse me."

She headed to her room and shut the door loudly. Throwing herself on the comfy bed and closed her eyes to think peacefully. The west wood she saw wasn't full of snakes, it was a forest full of hope for everyone who wanted to start a peaceful life. Though there were few vacant lots, it could still shelter more than ten families.

She rolled on her bed and looked at the ceiling again as she imagined herself living in that zone. Smiling from ear to ear as she continued daydreaming about the things she and V would do. Jennie's face was getting paler as seconds passed by and didn't notice it until her father open the door and furrowed his eyebrows.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked but she didn't answer. "Let's eat, Nini," Carlisle called out, but she ignored him again.

Carlisle slammed the door making her startled and pulled her from daydreaming.

She just nodded as she tried to get up her tired body, and headed out with him then sat on the chair. His visitors were here again, but this time they were properly dressed. They all looked good in their white plain shirt and faded trousers.

"Nini, meet the chief of our village. His name is Leiji." Carlisle introduced the most handsome among them all. He has these cold smokey eyes but didn't know how to smile.

"This is Top. His right hand." He pointed to the guy who has black spiky hair and has this intimidating aura like Leiji. He doesn't seem nice. "Ri, the warrior's general." She furrowed her eyebrows at the white-haired guy. It's new to her ear the title "warrior's general".

"How old are they to be the leader of this village?" she asked out of curiosity. The two guys laughed except for Leiji, who remained his blank expression while staring at her. She doesn't know why but she likes the thought that he's looking at her right now.

"Age doesn't matter, Nini. As long as you're strong and brave enough to be the leader of the pack," Top explained.

Jennie grabbed the fork, ignoring what Top said then start eating her meal. She didn't know what she's talking about, the terms they used like warriors and pack. It's all new to her. She's not a super fan of books and supernatural movies, and all she did was watch Captain America over and over again because the main character looked like his dad.

"You're turning eighteen next week, what are your plans?" Finally, Leiji spoke.

Jennie shrugged as she took the spoonful to her mouth. "When are you going to marry me?" She almost threw up at what he said.

The thought of marrying someone she met for the first time made her shiver to the core. She's neither Anna nor Juliet to do that. She still believes in courtship, romance, and how it naturally goes. She wanted to feel the butterflies in her stomach through someone's efforts and be drowned in his love. She wanted all of that, and she's hoping to get that.

"You okay?" Carlisle asked as he handed her the glass of water. She drinks it until the last drop then turned to Leiji, who's wearing his famous poker face again.

"I don't care if you're a chief here in this village. You shouldn't ask me that through dinner, and you shouldn't ask me that since we barely knew each other, understood?!" she yelled at his face but he deadpanned.

Jennie was still annoyed about his question. It doesn't mean that she didn't like him at all, It's just she wanted sincerity from him.

"You shouldn't yell at him like that!" Top stood up, but Leiji stopped him by making him sat down on the chair. He looked at her with his cold eyes then heaved a sigh.

"Okay then, I'll do the courting." Those were the last words he said before they left the Clandestine residence. Jennie turned to her father, who's just eating silently like there's nothing happened.

"Stop overreacting, finish your meal," Carlisle coldly said causing me to huff.

"You really didn't care about me, don't you?"

"Stop being immature, Jennie. Eat your meal!"

After dinner, Jennie immediately washed and get ready to bed since this day is very tiring for her, but instead of sleeping, she looked at the window to see the bright and glowing moon.

Many questions are bothering her right now. Like how can Leiji just say that to her like they were close or each other's first loves? How can Carlisle be calm after hearing those words? If she were him, she'd definitely punch that man in front of her daughter.

She leaned her hand upon her cheek and heaved a sigh once again. Aside from them, she's wondering about what V's doing right now. Is he okay? Sleeping alone in that big forest. Is he safe? It's beautiful during the day but what about during the night?

"I'm safe." Jennie was startled when she heard his deep voice.

She looked at the side of her window, only to see the guy she'd been thinking, leaning on the wall. He shushed causing her to act like she zipped her lips and he showed her his ever cute gummy smile then winked.

Okay, he's handsome but she didn't feel something magical inside her stomach, unlike every time Leiji stared at her. The feeling was different, very different from what V made her feel like.

She slapped herself at the thought then looked at V who's looking intently at her now.

"So he marked you already," he said in remorse.

"Marked?"

"You already met the Alpha on this pack, and he marked you. What's so special in you to be his Luna?" He cupped her cheeks making her body froze. His hands are so soft and warm now. "See you tomorrow morning, Nini."

"Who are you talking to out there?"

Jennie was surprised when she saw Carlisle at her door then looked at the window, but V was not there, so she decided to close it. She turned to her father and lie down on the bed.

"No one, just talking to the moon," she said, and he believed it at once. She heaved a sigh when he turned off the lights and closed the door.

Damn, that was close.
