Tamina spun around with her arms lifted to the gray clouds. "Behold the Grand Master!" An old woman cackled. Eyes turned at the opportunity to survey a fool. The girl halted her blissful movement, an arm raised against their eager stares. She soundlessly removed herself from them, returning to safe house walls.
A harsh mans face was alighted by the open door.

"Do you have any idea what this means?" Tamina's cold eyes caught the boy's.
"An unfortunate mishap madam, you will forgive me for not knowing the consequences." The tips of her fingers trailed along the tabletop as she stepped closer to him.
"Forgiveness is not in my nature," a sly smirk, "but I'll spare you. For now I want you to follow the King. Keep close to his company. Make friends out of my enemies, but take care not to reciprocate those feelings." She fixed his tattered tie, "I have faith in you." With a glance at a guard the boy was escorted out. 
"Do you really?" An overtly thin woman croaked from the shadows when the door shut.
Tamina swung around to face her, her hips knocking into the table. "He is young, whether he remains loyal doesn't matter. He's perfect for the job, and those who I have true faith in will inform me on the progress." Impatience crossed her face at the woman's silence, "I would have thought you'd approve of my methods. I'm keeping him close to me, but I refrain from suffocation. That is reserved for the final stage of his imminent betrayal."
"You seem to anticipate it."
"I'm granting freedoms, at a cost. In the end I'll get what I want."
"What you want?"
Tamina hummed approval as her eyes danced over the map. "Hades will be in Abagarbra by next evening. Our king will arrive at the old castle by this afternoon."
"It still amuses me that Hades insists on going by land, if I had his power I'd never use another horse or chariot."
