"Congratulations Class of 1999!"

A plethora of pointy hats flew high in the air. Cheers erupted from the Hogwarts' graduating class, of which our blossoming couple is a part.

Neville looked to his side as he threw his hat in the air, a big smile gracing his face as he made eye contact with his boyfriend. Blaise's eyes were dancing with joy, the sparkle silently telling Neville that he couldn't be any happier than he was in this moment.

Neville's hat hit him on the head as it fell back to Earth and the two laughed. Blaise glanced up and caught his own with grace before gently placing Neville's hat back onto head, tucking his unruly hair behind his ears. The two shared a chaste kiss before they were interrupted by their friends.

"Aahhh!" Pansy screamed, ripping the two from their quiet moment. "We're done!"

Draco sauntered up behind the girl, pushing her head forward in order to shut her up. The group laughed as the Golden Trio came to join the party.

"Hi guys!" Hermione called out, waving as she walked up with Harry and Ron in tow.

"Hey!" Neville replied, giving her a quick hug.

"We came over here to propose a plan to you guys," Ron spoke up. His eyes flashed a devilish gleam, only spurred on by a snort from Harry. Draco rolled his eyes at the two's antics.

"I thought we were leaving all these 'Chosen One' missions in the grave with Voldemort," the Slytherin Prince retorted.

"It's nothing like that," Hermine explained, mimicking Draco's dramatic eye roll. "We're planning a trip to the beach."

"Oh, I love a good beach day! We have to go." Pansy shook Draco's shoulders for added effect.

Neville snuck a glance at Blaise, gauging his interest. He wanted to go, of course, but didn't want to force his boyfriend into anything. His thoughts were interrupted when the boy in question looked over and gave him a blinding smile.

"You down?" Blaise asked.

"Definitely," Neville replied, returning his smile with a wholesome one of his own.

—----------------------------------------------------------------

"Ugh, it's such a good day to get a nice golden glow," Pansy said, sighing as she laid out her towel and applied some tanning oil.

"Mind if I join you?" Hermione asked the other girl.

"You're going to tan? I didn't peg you as the type."

"Oh, no," Hermione laughed at Pansy's question. "I brought along a book I've been dying to read. The beach is such a relaxing place to get into some good literature."

"Well I'm going to hit the ocean right away," Ron said, jumping with excitement. "Harry and I brought our boogie boards." Hermione gave them a stern look as they began to walk away.

"Ron, you have a negative melanin count. If you don't put sunscreen on, you're going to burn into a crisp." The boy in question gave Hermione a sheepish look before he turned back around to dig in his bag for some SPF.

"You want me to help you with your sunscreen?" Blaise asked, turning to Neville.

"Sure, let me grab it."

As Blaise helped Neville with reaching his back, their friends gave a very loud and unnecessary wolf whistle.

"Get a room, you two," Draco joked. Neville rolled his eyes and gave him the finger.

"Please, we all know you're fantasizing about 'Loverboy' over there doing the same for you." Neville's retort earned a deep blush from both Draco and Harry. Blaise gave a hearty laugh at his boyfriend's joke.

"You're all set. Let's go," Blaise said.

The couple made their way to the ocean, bumping shoulders as they walked. It was a gorgeous sunny day with just enough of a breeze to not be sweltering. Neville truly could not be any happier than he was at this moment.

As the two neared the shoreline, Blaise grabbed Neville's hand and pulled him into a run. Water splashed up along their shins as they cut through the ocean. Neville laughed, letting himself be brought up to his waist in water.

"I never imagined we'd be here," Neville said, the beautiful scenery putting him in a reflective mood.

"Why's that?" Blaise replied, pulling him in close.

"I don't know, we're just so different. I was always the weird nerd sitting on the sidelines admiring from afar. You could literally be with anyone."

Blaise sucked his teeth, leaning down to place a soft kiss on Neville's hair.

"I'm so glad it's all worked out like this, though. I've always felt a hole in my heart, but you fill it. You're stuck with me for life, baby."

Neville laughed a bit, pulling Blaise in for a deep hug.

"I love you."

"I love you, too."

Suddenly, Neville's feet were lifted off of the ocean floor and his legs naturally anchored themselves around Blaise's back. He gave another laugh as he was shamelessly peppered with kisses from his boyfriend.

"Coming through!" The boys heard a voice call out. Harry and Ron were charging through the ocean– boogie boards in hand– splashing water onto Neville and Blaise as they passed.

"We've gotta catch this wave!" Ron screamed back to his best friend as he effectively doused Neville's hair.

The couple laughed as they wiped the water off of their faces, watching the two Golden Trio boys jump onto their boards and be pulled towards shore by the wave in question.

"Ron, that wave sucked!" Harry said, barely any closer to shore.

"I'm trying, okay?!"

As Neville laughed at the two's antics, he was pulled back in by a kiss snuck onto his cheek.

"Do you want to set up those chairs we brought on the shore?" Blaise asked.

"Yeah, then we can watch them fail at boogie boarding," Neville answered. "And also avoid getting run over."

The rest of the day went swimmingly. Pansy got a nice tan just like she'd intended, then proceeded to pack sand over Draco, who had mistakenly fallen asleep under the umbrella. Hermione got about halfway through her book before she was dragged into boogie boarding along with the boys– she turned out to be much better than both of them combined, although Ron would never admit that.

Overall, it was a nice holiday to celebrate the finality of school. After this day, the group would be heading into the "real world." They all had jobs lined up for after Hogwarts, but for now, they could still act like teenagers and simply enjoy themselves.
