This is an angsty one 😭

"Louis, please."

"No, Harry. I chose to do this to protect you. So you wouldn't have to go through this. Don't you get it? I have to."

"That's what you keep saying!" Harry exclaimed, his eyes already watering as he tried to plead with his boyfriend. "That it's not your choice! That you have to! Louis, come on, baby. The contract is ending soon, we can sign with another company, you have no reason to do this anymore! Please."

Louis turned away, not being able to look into those beautiful, deep green orbs that he loved so much. Harry would just have to learn to understand. "I have to go."

Harry let out a sob as Louis moved to the front door, grabbing his keys. No. He couldn't let him leave. He ran up ahead of Louis, standing in front of the man and shutting the door with his weight. He curled in on himself, his hand fiddling with the ring on his finger.

His wedding band.

Harry's eyes clenched shut, more tears falling down his face as memories of that perfect day and night they shared together. One that would be engraved in his mind forever. "Please, Lou. Please don't leave me here again. Not for her. Not again... please."

Louis' heart clenched at the sight of his husband, but he couldn't bear to look him in the eyes. His own we're starting to burn, but he blinked them away, straightening his stance. "Move, Harry. I'm not doing this right now."

"Doing what?!" Harry cried. His throat burned as he spoke his next words but he held it together and looked at his lover, who was still avoiding his gaze."Why?! Why do you leave? For her?! You say you have to when you know you don't! Is there something wrong with me? Do you not want me anymore? And I just not doing it for you? Is that it?!" Harry's voice was raised to nearly a yell and he was following his boyfriends face where it turned. "Look at me!"

He couldn't. No matter how hard he tried, Louis couldn't bring himself to look into his lovers eyes. He knew he would break. "Move, Harry. I won't ask again." He spoke, his voice coming with an edge, a warning.

"No." Harry whispered defiantly, looking at Louis with red rimmed eyes. But he kept his head up.

"Harry."

"No." He spoke clearer.

"Harry!"

"No!"

"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Louis yelled, bringing a hand up to the door and finally looking Harry in the eyes. And that's when he saw it.

The way the boy flinched when he brought his hand up.

The fear in his eyes.

Harry was scared.

Harry thought Louis was going to hit him.

Louis immediately stepped back, looking to the floor, ashamed of his own actions.

Harry slipped out of the space between Louis and the door. His eyes were unblinking as he walked to the wall behind Louis, sliding his back down and sinking to the floor. His heart was beating in his chest.

Not once had Harry felt scared around Louis. Not in the ten years they've known each other. Not in the ten years they've been in love.
