Chapter Two
It had taken Lynett about thirty minutes to make it to the address that Margot had given her. She had assumed that it was the address to her friend's house, but it had turned out to be the address to the restaurant she had told her about earlier.
As she pulled up and parked her car, she looked out at the beautifully built building. She grabbed the cake from her passenger seat and climbed out of her car, careful not to drop the cake as she made her way up the few steps of the restaurant.
The parking lot was pretty empty, but she figured it was after closing time since it was already so late. She was actually a little worried that Antonio had probably already left as she neared the front door when she noticed that there weren't any lights turned on.
She raised her hand and knocked a few times, groaning when no one showed up. She was just about to pull her phone out to call Margot when a light flickered on, and the door suddenly opened to reveal a tall, handsome man smiling down at her.
"Hello! You must be, Lynett?" The man greeted her, stepping aside and motioning for her to come in. "Your cousin texted me a few minutes ago saying that you were probably almost here; although, I hadn't expected you to make it here this fast. So sorry about the slight wait back there at the door." He apologized, leading her to the kitchen. "Oh! Let me take that from you," he turned around and gently took the cake box from her hands and sat it down on the table before them.
Lynett stood in a daze, slightly hating herself for it. It wasn't like she had never seen attractive men before, but this man was breathtaking. He stood a few inches above her five nine frame, and had nice tan skin, accompanied by dark brown hair that fell just above his ears, and a slight five o'clock shadow the same color forming around his mouth - but that wasn't what had her acting like a star struck teenage girl with her first crush - it was those beautiful hazel eyes staring back at her.
She now knew what her cousin had meant from earlier. Don't fall too hard, okay? Those had been her words, and she hated to say it, but she was falling and hard. Now that she thought about it, how did Margot know him again? Oh, right, college friend, got. She mentally reminded herself. It was hard to believe that Margot had never tried to date him, he seemed like her type..no scratch that, he was better than her usual type.
"Lynett? Are you okay?" Antonio's deep, rich voice broke her from her thoughts and she mentally cringed. Had he notice her staring like a weirdo? She cleared her throat and nodded. "Oh, yeah, sorry. I'm fine. Just a little tired is all." She laughed nervously, as she looked from him to the cake on the table next to them. "Well, um, I should get going." She replied a little rushed.
She noticed a slight frown make its way onto Antonio's face before he pushed it away and lowered his head so that their faces were only inches away.
"Now that you mention it, you do look a little tired. I'm sorry you had to make a detour and stop by here." He replied, "Are you sure you're okay to drive home?"
Lynett felt her face heat from the closeness, and she felt extremely embarrassed as she looked into his eyes. She probably looked flustered. "Yes, I think I can manage. I only live about five or six minutes away from here." She explained.
He wore a look of surprise on his face before standing back up, and giving her some space. "Oh, well, that's good. I won't keep you." He told her, leading her to the front of the restaurant, "Thanks again for dropping the cake off. You and Margot are lifesavers." He said honestly, holding the door open for her. "Be safe driving home."
"Thank you, and you're welcome." She sent him a wave and headed to her car, but not before turning around once more to see that he was still watching after her until she had made it safely into her car before he shut the door, and turned the front lights back off.
She laid her head against her steering wheel feeling like an idiot. Real smooth Lynett. Real smooth.

Antonio chuckled when he saw Lynett softly bang her head against her steering wheel. He guessed he shouldn't have teased her the way he did after just meeting her, but he couldn't help himself. She was cute.
Of course, if Margot found out that he thought her little cousin was cute, she would probably tease him endlessly.
He watched as she finally started her car and backed out of the parking lot, and onto the street.
He shook his head as he thought about what Margot would think if he told her that he had a crush on her cousin.
He took the desserts out of the oven that he had been baking earlier and placed the cake that Lynett had brought into the fridge as he thought back on his previous thought. What would Margot think? He pondered as he turned off all of the lights and headed out of the restaurant and to his own vehicle.
He smiled, knowing her, she'd probably encourage it.
