"Can't you just not be a jerk for five seconds in your life!" a familiar voice shouted in the parking lot of Valley Fest, capturing Violet and her group's attention. A small group was formed in the corner of the lot. It wasn't a huge crowd but Violet noticed some familiar jackets. The Cobra Kai's. She also noticed some familiar faces of girls that went to her school.

"Should we go investigate?" whispered Jane, a close friend of Violet's. Violet shrugged.

"I mean it really isn't our business-" Violet was then cut off by her obnoxious friend, Lucy.

"Well I'm going over there. Those are the Cobra Kai boys! This might be juicy!" Before Violet could stop her friend, Lucy ran over to see the commotion. Violet was soon left alone when her other two friends followed. Violet sighed in defeat, following them soon after. She pushed her way between her friends, catching a glimpse of Johnny and his beloved, perfect girlfriend, Ali, standing in the middle. They both looked heated and upset, flailing their arms and raising their voices.

"Cool it, will ya?? He deserved it!" Johnny spat, holding his arms out, clearly frustrated.

"No he didn't Johnny! You're such a jerk anymore!" Ali shoved him, causing everyone to gasp. Johnny grew red in the face, clenching his fists, "That's it! We're through! I'm done with you, Johnny Lawrence!" Ali spat, throwing her hands in the hair, picking up her stuffed animal that Johnny had won for her at a game, throwing it at his feet. Her and her friends pushed through the crowd and stormed off. Johnny pushed through his gang, going the opposite way. The Cobras stood there, talking about what just happened, then they turned, seeing Violet and her group standing there lost.

"Hello, ladies." Dutch smirked, looking them up and down.

"We were just leaving," Violet rolled her eyes, walking away. Jane followed, but Lucy and Mya stayed behind, flirting with the karate jocks. Violet went towards where she saw Johnny storm off to.

"V, the car is this way." Jane pulled her arm a little and pointed in the other direction, stopping her in her tracks.

"I know. I was just getting a snack from the concession. I'll be there in a minute. Go get love birds over there and wait for me," Violet smiled a little. Jane nodded, raising an eyebrow, questioning Violet silently.

"Alright, V. See you back at the car then." Jane walked back to Lucy and Mya, trying to get them away from the flirty boys. Violet walked off, going the complete opposite of the concession stand. She scanned the crowd for the blonde she hoped to find. She didn't talk to him all that much in school but they helped each other in Algebra. She knew more about him and Ali's relationship than his Cobra gang or Ali's friends, due to the fact Johnny sometimes asks for advice about girls to help resolve his and Ali's little feuds. Of course Violet was going to make sure he was okay, checking on how he was dealing with the fresh break up. Violet has crushed on Johnny since the day she moved to Encino, but she pushed her feelings down in respect that he was dating Ali.

Finally, she found the blonde, sitting alone on the bench, staring blankly at the bright colored Ferris wheel. Crowds of people walked by like Johnny wasn't even there. Violet stood there frozen for a second, hesitant. She finally pushed herself to talk to him.

          "Hey, Johnny?"

Johnny broke his blank gaze at the crowds of people and looked up at her, a silent and emotionless expression painted his face, as if he didn't have anything to say to her or anyone for that matter.

"Do you mind if I sit or do you want me to leave?" she motioned to the open space next to him. Johnny looked at the open space, then looked down. He moved his wide arms off the back of the bench to his side, and slid over a little, nonchalantly signaling she could join him. He stayed silent though as he continued to watch the crowds of people at the Ferris wheel. Violet sat down, leaving a good enough gap between him and her to ensure he has personal space. The silence was awkward for a couple minutes.

"Um, so, I know you probably are having a tough time-"

"You saw what happened, didn't you?" Johnny cut her off, his tone was emotionless and cold. This through Violet off.

"Well...yeah. Look, I just came over to make sure you're okay-"

"I'm fine, okay?" he cut her off again, this time looking at her but with a bitter look on his face. Although his face was stern and cold, she could see right through his eyes. She could see through his tough exterior. Violet hesitated, but went to reach for his hand. Johnny didn't pull away.

"You're a pretty bad liar, Lawrence. I know you're tough and all, but I can see right through that. You're not okay," Violet spoke softly.

Johnny looked away, clenching his jaw a little. It was an awkward silence again, but Violet didn't want to break it this time. After a few minutes, Johnny shifted awkwardly. Violet went to pull her hand away but Johnny kept his grip on her hand, starting to rub it with his thumb a little. It was a non-verbal way of saying he wanted her to stay a little longer. Violet looked at their locked hands, then back to him. This time he was looking at her, a blank expression on his face, but his eyes filled with pain. No, not tears, just filled with pain and hurt.

"Stay a little, Vi. You were really the only one that helped me when I didn't know what to do." Johnny practically whispered. This broke her heart, knowing he was just trying to paint a tough exterior for everyone, even though he was a mess inside. He was too worried of anyone seeing that, but not Violet. He only let Violet see this side of him.

"Alright, I'll stay, but my friends will be mad I kept them waiting," she smiled a little, squeezing his hand gently. Johnny leaned in a little.

"So will mine since I was the driver here, but it's no big deal. They all can wait," he smirked, causing Violet to roll her eyes jokingly and giggle.

"Of course you'd say that," Violet nudged him a little, causing him to laugh. It was like all his problems and pain would slip away with Violet's personality present.
