Chapter 23: Attend

Jennie's Pov

As time flew by, it's been two days and I honestly feel worse. I always cough out blood. It was very very painful. Kai always stopped by before coming to his schedules. The girls are worried too. I mean, who wouldn't be? I was sick and its getting worse. I myself, was worried. I've been neglecting my responsibilities as an idol. I heard the door open and I looked up to peek and saw Kai. A smile crept in my face as he walked closer and soon, enveloped me in his arms.

"How are you babe? Are you feeling good?" Kai asked, even if he knew the answer. I shook my head, not wanting to say anything. I'm too tired.

I heard him sigh and said, "Babe, please. Let's go to the doctor." He pleaded. I sighed heavily. Here we go again. He has been telling me for the past two days to go to he doctor. Honestly, I'm too scared. Scared that something serious will pop out and everybody will leave me. But since I felt very eager to know what is going on, I just surrendered, finally agreeing.

"Okay, fine. Let me change first." I said lazily. He looked at me and smiled. "Finally, you agreed. I'll wait here then."

I stood up and went to my walk-in closet. I honestly don't know what to wear. This is the first time that I didn't really want to make an effort in dressing up. But since we're going outside, might as well wear something decent. I just changed into some ripped jeans and a stripped orange shirt. I went out and as he promised, he never moved his place. He was just there, taking to someone in the phone. It's probably work stuff.

I just shrugged my shoulders and went to the restroom to brush teeth. I never interfered with his personal life and personal stuff. I trusted him that much. And I also trust him not to break that trust sometimes jealousy can be the reason why relationships fall apart. That is why I avoided it as much as I can.

I went out again and tapped his shoulder lightly. He looked at me and bid goodbye to the person he's talking to.

"Are you ready babe?" He asked. He looked at me up and down. "Yeah, I just wore something simple." I said. He said nothing and stood up before carrying me bridal style to his car. I didn't bother complaining because it was probably no use. Plus, I'm too tired to argue. He gently put me in the passenger seat and closed the door. He sat in driver seat and looked at me before leaning in to put my seatbelt. I was surprised. He pecked my lips before moving away and wore his own seatbelt. Ladies and gentleman, I am officially blushing. He started to drive and he took my hand, rubbing soothing circles in my palms. The hospital is quite far, about a 25 minute drive. Before I knew it, I soon fell asleep.

I woke up feeling something caressing my hair. I opened my eyes and saw Kai looking at me, while his hand caressed my hair.

"You're awake? Did you have a good sleep?" He said. I nodded and fixed myself as we both went out and wore our masks before going in the VIP entrance. I walked towards our family doctor's office before knocking on the door, with my other free hand is still holding Kai's. It was opened by our family doctor, Kim Eok Jin. His faced became confused for a second until I pulled down my mask. His face lit up and signalled the both of us to come in first before talking because someone might recognise our voice.

We went inside and sat down the couch. We both removed our masks. His eyes landed on Kai's and his face was shocked. Actually, shocked was an understatement.

"Y-your EXO's Kai, r-right?" He said. Kai nodded. After, he started jumping around his office and we both just laughed. "You guys didn't break up, correct?" He asked me. "Yeah, we didn't." I answered short and simple.

He basically fanboyed over him for 5 minutes straight. Did I mention he is gay? No? Well, he's gay. He finally checked me and took some of my blood and was immediately concerned. I became extremely worried. He cleared his throat. I squeezed Kai's hand out of nervousness.

"I need to excuse myself, just a moment. Jamshimanyo." He said and walked out of the office. Me and Kai looked at each other. "Babe, I'm extremely worried." I said while shaking. He held my hand and kissed the back of my hand.

"Everything will be okay babe. Trust the process." He said calmly. I just nodded and took a few deep breaths. We both stood up when we saw Eok Jin walking in again.

"Mhmm, you can go home for now. We got your blood tested and the results will be in tomorrow. Just rest and avoid stress. Also take this medicine at 12:00pm in the afternoon. " He said. We both nodded and went home.

I was getting ready for bed. Kai insisted to sleep here so I just allowed him. I laid beside him and rested my head in his chest. "Babe." I called out. He hummed in response. "I have an award show tomorrow." He sat up immediately. "I plan to go attend as per usual." I continued.

He held my hand. "But babe, you're sick. The doctor said to rest. Something bad might happen to you." He said, in a worried tone.

"Babe, I can't skip out all of these responsibilities as an idol." I said, as I caressed his hand. "They will hate me even more and that is the last thing I will want. The others are getting dragged into this mess. Plus you'll be there. You can watch me." I continued. He sighed in defeat. "Fine! Just be careful okay?" He said. I nodded and laid back down and patted the space beside me, signalling him to lay beside me. He did. And we just cuddled before sleeping peacefully.

1038 words! Not counting this a/n. I felt like I have to make up for the short chapter so last time so I wrote this. Also, the next chapter is ready to be published next week. I have exams next week and I really need to study and I thought I won't have time to edit and write it next week so I wrote like four chaps in a week. Count my other exopink book😅😅.
