Isabella's Mates

Chapter 7

Isabella:

I was running I don't know for how long but after a while I stoped to catch my breath. Tears stream down my face I was trying to keep my sobs quiet but I couldn't hear anyone following me so what was the point. I sobbed my heart out so terrified that they would come and take me. It took all I had pretending to be ok with what they said. I usually never lie but it was necessary in this situation.

   After a minute or two I look at the phone I had found in Norris's car. It was a  black iPhone. I was expecting it to have a password but when I open it, it opens without one.

   "God I'm lucky." I mutter to myself in relief.

   Ok good now all I have to do is call my aunt to come get me.

   I dial her phone one time and she doesn't pic up I try dialing again but it says she's busy. God damn it she's probably working. I take a deep breath and download the Uber app. Once I'm done it says the car is on its way. I don't have cash on me but I'll grab some from the house once I arrive.

   About seven long minutes go by and by this point I'm shaking it's cold and it started raining a little bit ago. I'm now wearing a short, cold and soaking wet dress.

   The black car stops wear I'm standing I'm already walking over to it when a man exits the car.

   "You must be freezing." He saying in genuine concern.

   The man looks to be not much older than me, maybe nineteen or twenty. He has light brown hair closely shaved on the sides and a little on the long side on the top. His eyes are the same shade of brown as his hair. As for his body his well build. Damn why did everybody have to be so attractive in this god damn city.

   "Oh no it's fine." I manage to say through my shivers.

   "Ya right and your shivers are out of your joy of seeing me right?" He jokes with a charming grin on his adorable face.

"Yes I might not know you but I'm just shaking in joy out of your beauty." I laugh out I think I like him.

"Aha I see." He says.

"Ok no more jokes now let's get you warm and safely to wherever your headed." He instructed.

"Ok." I reply.

He leads me to his car and I get into the passenger seat with him softly shouting the door behind me before getting in the car himself. He starts up the car and heads out of we're I was standing.

   "Do you know the address to where you need to be?" He questions.

   "Yes." I say and then quickly read off my address to him.

   "Ok that's not to far from here." He says before turning the car heat high on and starting on his way to my house.

   About ten minutes go by and we stay in comfortable silence before he speaks again.

   "How old are you?"

   "Seventeen."

   "Oh ok. Sorry to ask I know it's none of my business and you don't have to answer but aren't you supposed to be in school."

   "No it's totally fine. Ya today was actually supposed to be my first day, since I'm new here but I had a really bad stomach ache so I left." I explain leaving out the bit wear I ended up passing out since I didn't want to embarrass myself by telling him I was so weak that I couldn't handle some stomach pain.

   "Oh to bad I'm sure you would have loved it people here are usually very nice." He says.

   "Yes I can tell." I really couldn't tell like yes he was really sweet and same with Victoria but on my first day here I get taken by some weird delusional guys that think I'm theirs.

About a minute goes by and he's already parking in my house's driveway.

"Ok we're here." He says.

"I don't have cash on me but I'll go grab some real quick ok." I ask scared that he'll think I'm lying.

"No need it's free."

"Free?" I question.

   "Ya. Well it really wasn't that long of a ride and wouldn't have costed you much." He says still with a toothy grin on his face.

"Really? Thank you. Oh and what's your name I never got that."

"Lucas. Yours?"

"Isabella." I smile at him and he smiles at me and we both smile at each other like complete idiots.

Not wanting to catch a cold since it was still raining I turn and rush up the driveway of my new home. I hear Lucas's car engine driving away as I unlock the front door and enter the house, shutting and locking it behind me.

I walk to my bedroom but before I pass my aunts bedroom I see her door open. I can't hear anything so I don't think she's home and she probably won't be until seven pm. I decide to take a quick look.

Her room is just as empty as mine although it's a bit bigger than mine with a few boxes scattered around the room. I don't see anything out of the ordinary except that there's a big book ok her bed. I walk to it noticing how old it looks, almost like it's been worn out. I look down once I reach the bed, deciding to take the book to my room.

   I shut the door behind me before going and sitting on my bed. Then I started to read the title of the page.
