sorry in advance!

Standing opposite Sister Jude in her office, Eve's mind flashed back to the image of Kit getting repeatedly caned over her desk, his pained grunts filling the space as he squeezed his eyes shut.

She badly wanted to stop his torture, although she knew if she did, her punishment would be worse.

"Now, Ms Brooks." Sister Jude's voice snapped Eve out of her thoughts. "Take a seat."

Eve just glared at the older woman, Sister Jude smirking as she continued. "Oops. Is your rear still sore?"

"Considering you caned me twenty times last night, yes, it is." Eve responded sarcastically, the woman crossing her arms as she remained standing.

"Cry me a river, Ms Brooks." Sister Jude only replied, the woman feeling no empathy for Eve.

Eve kept her harsh gaze on the older woman, contempt filling her body as her eyes remained fixated on the nun.

"Now, this has been bothering me ever since you popped up in here." Sister Jude continued, the woman clearing her throat as she intertwined her hands together, the woman resting them on the mahogany desk in front of her. "You killed your dog and your boyfriend, but yet you still try to convince us all, and yourself, that you're innocent."

"That's because I am, Sister." Eve responded coldly as she crossed her arms.

Sister Jude scoffed. "There you go, proving my point yet again."

"I don't know what you want from me!" Eve slammed her hands down on the desk, the woman glaring at Sister Jude angrily as she yelled.

Sister Jude only stood up, the nun moving closer to Eve as she met her gaze, her tone of voice steady and threatening. "Ms Brooks, I suggest you lower your voice and get your hands off my desk immediately, before you get yourself caned again."

Her eyes flickering between Sister Jude's for a brief moment, Eve stood up, Sister Jude sitting back down in her chair and clearing her throat as she spoke again. "What's humorous to me, my dear, is that you are so determined in your answer, your belief, in fact, that you haven't committed this horrible crime."

"Because I haven't." Eve frowned at the woman.

Sister Jude glanced at Eve again as she responded, her eyebrows raised. "You're telling me you that haven't doubted yourself yet, not once? There hasn't been a time where you've thought to yourself, 'maybe I did do it, and I'm convincing myself I didn't'."
