"Yeah, he smacked me around, shot me with x-rays for that...thing...he found in my neck." Kit started as he blew out cigarette smoke to the side of him, the man glancing at Eve as he spoke.

After a moment, Kit then glanced at the ground, his expression fading slightly as he relived the experience in his head.

"They trace it from that thing in the sky?" Eve questioned after a moment, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

Kit's attention shifted back to Eve as he responded. "You still believe me, don't you?"

"Yeah, of course." Eve replied, her eyebrows raising slightly as she met his gaze.

His gaze flickering between her eyes, Kit nodded, Eve breaking the eye contact as she glanced down at the bread dough, the woman picking it up and rolling it around in her hands. "But it doesn't matter what I think. I'm not even certain I'm actually innocent at this point."

A frown forming on his face, Kit spoke up. "What?"

Eve's gaze shifted from Kit to her hands as she shrugged.

"Eve, your story makes you who you are. Don't let Jude, or any of the guards, take that away from you." Kit spoke again, his eyebrows still furrowed as he added quietly. "You can't let them force you to think you're insane."

Eve glanced at Kit again, the woman's gaze flickering between his eyes as she responded, her voice quiet and tears beginning to sting the corners of her eyes. "What if I did it? What if I did kill Jack and Bella?"

"No, don't say that, Eve." Kit shook his head. "You didn't kill them, okay?"

"But-"

Cutting her off, Kit spoke again, his voice hushed, but firm. "The next time Jude calls you in her office, don't listen to her. She's brainwashin' you. Dean and Lana know you didn't do it, and so do I, okay? You're innocent, Eve."

Eve hesitated for a moment, the woman allowing his words to sink in. After a moment, she nodded, a small smile appearing on her face as she wiped away her tears with her apron. "Thank you."

A small smile appeared on Kit's face as he nodded in response.

Eve walked into the bakery, the woman widening her eyes as she witnessed Kit slamming bread dough down onto the table, the man angrily punching it and heaving breaths as he stopped momentarily.
