Ch. 18 Traitor

~Y/n pov~

"Ahem! Now then, let's start with a basic explanation of the class trial. During the trial you'll present your arguments for who the culprit is, and vote for 'whodunnit' . Vote correctly, and only the blackened will be punished. But if you pick the wrong person.... I'll punish everyone 'besides' the blackened."Monokuma explained, "Now without further ado, let's begin!"

"The traitor is obviously the killer! They were trying to shut Nagito up." Fuyuhiko exclaimed.

"Those marks. The killer tortured Nagito." Kazuichi added.

"But Nagito's mouth was covered with duct tape. He couldn't say anything." Hajime replied.

I smiled sadly, "The blood was on top of the duct tape. The duct tape was there so you couldn't hear him scream....."

Hajime stared at me, "W-what? That's- "

"No. I think Y/n is right." Chiaki agreed.

"What psycho killed him!?" Akane exclaimed.

"Some type of setup was used, right?" Sonia asked calmly.

Kazuichi grinned, "Woah, Miss Sonia you're so smart!"

"Opening the door is what started the fire." Hajime stated.

"It was jammed and when Akane managed to open it I could hear a faint falling sound over the music. They must've set up those Monokuma cutouts like dominos and knocked over the lighter to start the fire." I explained.

"That door is the only entrance to the storehouse.." Chiaki commented.

So that's how it is....I didn't want to believe it but...

"Nagito set up the whole thing." Hajime concluded.

"Wait a minute....in the Monokuma file it doesn't state his cause of death." Hajime exclaimed.

"That's means... that mystery is crucial to fully solving the case.." I commented.

Hajime nodded, "Right."

"What else could've killed Nagito?" Sonia asked.

"There was an opened poison bottle, right? Perhaps that was used somehow.." I stated.

Hajime was deep in thought before speaking, "If I recall, the poison turns into a gas so you have to wear a gas mask while handling it.... Nagito could've inhaled the poison. The question is, where was the poison and when was it released. It's a quick working problem."

"Was the poison..." Hajime paused, "In the fire grenades?"

"That would mean one of us killed Nagito, but there's no way to figure out who..." I trailed off.

Fuyuhiko gritted his teeth, "That bastard."

"Then...who killed Nagito.." Akane growled.

Everyone starting arguing back and forth.

"Guys.." they all turned their intention to me.

"When Nagito said he was going to find the traitor...I think I know what he meant." I stated.

"Spit it out." Fuyuhiko frowned.

"One of us is the traitor. One of us killed Nagito. I think the one who killed Nagito was the traitor. Nagito's luck weeded out the traitor and they were the one to throw the grenade. However, we don't know who the traitor is.. if they don't step forward....it all ends here." I smiled sadly.
