Hazel's POV
Hazel had stood in one single place, right in front of the entrance to the staircase, just simply watching the red faces, tears, and the words come out of Percy and Annabeth's mouths. She couldn't process what they were speaking, because of the distance but she guessed, using what she saw, that it wasn't good.

She saw Percy stumble backwards at the sudden weight that was obviously put onto him as the unknown blonde. He spread his arms out with a pleased face, then after a few moments he told his two friends to leave. Then they were gone.

"What was all that about?" Hazel quietly asked, coming closer to where Percy, Annabeth, and Frank were almost swaying from what recently happened.

"He..... A-and Ch-Charlie and Selena..... They-" Annabeth stuttered only to be interrupted by Percy turning to her with a red face.

"Did you know he was back?" He said.

"No- I-"

"Then what was he doing here?! He was trying to take you away from me!" He shouted ever so loudly, yet in an almost begging manner. "I wouldn't be able to take it if you were gone! You know that? You're the only one that keeps me from going insane from all of this! You have been since the day I met you. I can't take all of this without you, okay? This would be too much for me to handle. He can't take you away from me."

Percy's speech seemed to quiet things down even more as he stared at her, waiting for a reply with begging eyes.

"I need you." He whispered softy, yet loud enough for everyone to barely hear. "Please say something."

Percy begging was one thing unexpected but everyone knew that if it was for Annabeth, you never knew what to expect with him. Only that he will be by her side.

"Percy..... You know I would never ever leave you, okay? I need you, too, more than anything." She reached out and grabbed his hand, and gave him a reassuring smile, which he gladly returned. "Hazel, do you know where Leo is?"

"Um... No. I thought he was up here." Hazel said in confusion.

"No, he went downstairs to work on something." Jason stepped in after Annabeth talked.

"What was he working on?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows. "Did he tell you or did he keep it a secret again?"

As if on cue, Leo came sprinting onto the deck, panting heavily. "What- What happened? I heard- I heard the alarm- a few minutes ago- sorry I was late." He kept taking breaths in between his words, but his apology wasn't enough for Jason.

"You're sorry? Leo, do you know what could've happened? You need to be up here, right when we need you! What are you even working on that's so important that you can blow off helping the ship and us?" He questioned. Leo took a step back at Jason's sudden outburst. He sighed heavily and looked up at the now dark night sky while rubbing his face.

"Look, I can't tell you. I promise it's nothing bad and I promise that I'll tell all of you at some point but right now... right now I need you to just calm down. Why is everyone on edge so much? If we keep fighting like this who knows what'll happen? What if we're fighting a monster and two of us get into an argument? We can't let that happen." He looked around to see everyone looking at the floor in shame. "It's pretty late, I think we should all just get a good night sleep and we'll talk about this in the morning."

He said goodnight to everyone and everyone returned it. Jason and Piper were first to leave after Leo, yet Jason was keeping his distance and giving hesitant looks to Piper, while she kept her head down. Percy and Annabeth left soon after them, from one of those weird eye conversations they have with their eyes and facial expressions, leaving Hazel and Frank standing awkwardly on the deck. Hazel was the first to speak.

"Who were they? Those three people here, I mean."

Frank shrugged his shoulders as if to say 'I don't know', "I only know who the blonde one is, well I'm pretty sure. Percy called him Luke, so I'm guessing he was that Luke Castellan kid they told us about-"

"But he's dead." Hazel interjected. She knew that he was brought back just like she was, but this just seemed different.

"Hazel, I don't know. About any of this. I just don't know. Everything feels like it's falling apart. All he said was she brought them back. Who even is she? This doesn't make any se-"

"Gaea!" Hazel suddenly exclaimed. "It makes perfect sense. The reason he had that creepy smile, maybe why Annabeth was crying. It's the only thing I can think of!"

Frank sighed probably knowing that it wasn't good that he was brought back by Gaea and that they were using one of Percy and Annabeth's weak spots to make her switch sides. "You're right, Hazel. It does make perfect sense, but it's not safe for Annabeth, or us, if it's that Luke guy trying to get her to switch sides, because if he can get her to even cry, then we know that he will have an influence on all of her decisions."

"Yeah. And who were those other two?"

"Look, Hazel. This is a lot to take in. Can we talk about it in the morning with everyone else?" Frank asked with slightly pleading eyes.

"Sure." And with that they headed off to their rooms.
