Hello, readers!

I just wanted to say this is a story that has just been on my mind so I thought I would do this one-shot collection. It is going to contain moments and characters from the movie. I have not read the books; I only know about the books from reading fan fictions I have read. So things like Fearlings, Mother Nature, and what happened prior to the movie. Meaning this story may not be fully accurate to the books. The things I use from the movie will be slightly more accurate.

This one-shot collection goes with HTTYDGuardian's one shot collection Past, Present, Future: RoTG One-shots so some of the stories will have parts will start in one book and continue in the other. Due to this reason Jack may not play a huge role in my story since Jack is in their one-shot collection a lot.

Now I hope you enjoy!

Till My Last Breath

Part 1 of Death Arc

Omisha breathed in the fresh air, her lantern hanging from her hand swinging gently from the motion of her steps. She listened to the utter silence that filled the night. She loved listening to the sweet sound of silence. The days were filled with clanging, talking, and just so much noise.

But the nights, the nights were the points in time where everything was still...most of the time.

For the past 3 years, ever since she turned 16, Omisha had taken the job as watchman. She would walk the streets of the village, looking for fires, robbers, or dangerous wild animals that got too close to the houses and stores. Though the most important part was that every hour she called the hour of the night out to the village. If not, she would get in trouble for not doing her job, or it meant she did not make it through the night.

It did not seem that dangerous of a job to most, but once you know what watchman did, people realized just how dangerous it was.

Omisha continues her leisurely walk through the village. Tonight was one of those nights that nothing strange happen. And some strange things had happened in the past. And she was not a person with an active imagination. It was not good for the job to imagine crazy things happening. It was not okay ever to imagine crazy things. People will tend to start thinking you were insane.

Well anyways. One night when it was the peak of winter she was walking around the town when she heard someone on a roof. She looked up holding her lantern to her face to see better and there was a man who jumped down a chimney. She ran into the house to stop the intruder, but by the time when she got there, there was no one there. She looked around in case they were hiding, but the only signs were a few crumbles and some boxes under a tree. She shook her head as she started to leave the house.

"I have finally started to go crazy," she mumbled.

Now, there were a few other occurrences after that. Once, during the beginning of spring, there was what looked like a giant kangaroo hopping around hiding little creatures that looked like eggs. Let's just say Omisha ended up not eating eggs anytime soon after that. Then there was times where she swore, she say someone made of sand up in the sky standing on a cloud. Then there was a lady who looked like a giant bird flying around.

Other than those few times the nights were pretty bland. She continues her walk calling out the hour to the village, but right as she starts to head back the direction she came from. She sees a black shadow in the corner of her eye.

She pulls out one of her silver daggers from a loop on her pants that one of the kids in the village was kind enough to do for her once they realized she had no way to care them without hurting herself.
