Spirit of Comfort and Selfless Love
Alya sat inside the large observatory of the palace. She moved the telescope around taking in different sights. Her father had given her the chance to look over the Earth while he was busy working on different tasks. Right now he was busy going through some papers on the other side of the observatory.
Alya's gaze fell onto a particular couple of mortals.
It was a young girl and boy both looking quite similar, siblings perhaps, they were heading to a lake.
Alya watched them skate and seemed to have the time of their lives. She had to let out a chuckle at the tricks the boy seemed to do. He had a way with the ice it seemed as if it was only instinct to be on that lake. Though soon when the sun was nearing the horizon for the children Alya noticed that both skaters seemed to freeze.
Not knowing what was going on Alya zoomed the telescope closer. Then she saw it and could not help but let out a gasp.
She watched as the boy tried to keep the girl calm before switching places with her.
Alya noticed the look on the boy's face when he switched places with the girl.
He knew.
He knew he was going to fall in if he tried to save her.
And he did it anyways.
She felt a hand rest on her shoulder as tears trickled down her cheeks.
She looked up into the eyes of her father.
"The boy he sacrificed himself for his sister, knowing he would die." Alya chocked out.
"He did, I have watched him for awhile now. He is a good boy and I think he will be an excellent spirit."
Alya watched as her father went a moved a moonbeam over the place where the boy had fallen in. The sun was fully down already, the hole in the ice closed up, and the little girl gone.
"Make him a winter spirit."
Her father turned towards her. "Why that Little Moonbeam."
"When he was skating it was if he was one with the ice. Winter right now is cruel and harsh. But he can change that. He can make it where people don't have to fear the cold. They can enjoy it."
Her father nodded a smile on his face as he turned back to the window. He slowly pulled the boy out of the water. Alya noticed that the boy no longer had the rich fudge colored hair but hair the color of snow that seemed to have a silver shimmer in it. Much like the moon dust she always collected. His eyes were not longer the warm amber brown but an icy shade of blue. Yet still so full of joy. His clothes had beautiful shimmering frost designs all over.
Her father turned back to her looking incredible tired. Alya hurried to help him sit down.
"Alya, I think it may be time for you to go to Earth."
Alya blinked a few times. She had always wanted to go to Earth, but she hadn't expected it would be brought up now. "Why?"
"Multiple reasons, you are 16 and I trust you so much. But it also has to do with that boy. I used to much magic to bring him out of the ice and bring him back. I will not be able to communicate with Earth for quite a long time. I need you to be there to help people that I would normally be there to help."
"I'll do it father. But what else is on your mind. I can tell your thinking about something."
"The boy, he does not have any memories of his past. The shock of the water gave him amnesia. I want you to watch over him especially. Being a winter spirit and a young one at that may make other spirits dislike him and some may try to hurt him. I want you to watch out for him and make sure he is okay. Do the best you can to keep him and spirits in similar situations safe from others."
"I'll try my hardest, but can I ask you something?"
"Yes, you can my Little Moonbeam."
"I don't want them to know it was I who helped them, I want them to think that it was you or spirits close to them. I don't want to lose the belief that even if you don't communicate with them. You are still watching and helping them the best you can. It will make the spirits that may not have anyone feel like someone is there to help even in their worst moments."
"And how would you make it so they did not remember you?"
"A spell I found, it is done with moon dust, star dust, and light magic. It takes away all recent memories of the person who uses it from the person it is done on. It leaves them just with them vague remembrance of what happened, but no details and the person is missing. They just have a feeling of something did happened that they can replace the person with anyone they want."
"That is a smart way. But are you fine with no one knowing who you are?"
"I rather have them believe it was someone special to them, then a stranger they have never met before."
"What did I do to deserve you?" Alya let out a soft chuckle, before her father stood up. "Now I must rest a little, but by tomorrow evening I shall be ready to see you off to Earth."
****Time Skip****
The next morning Alya quickly grabbed a bag she had filled with a jar of stardust, a jar of moon dust, a first aid kit, and a few changes of clothes. Before going to sleep her father mentioned that she should be able to travel between the moon and Earth when ever she liked so not to worry about bring too many belongs. Though she should still find a place to stay on Earth so she does not have to use too much magic traveling back and forth.
Her father and her with both standing right outside of the front door. Her father gives her a huge before stepping back looking at her.
"My daughter, your name on Earth will be Alya Light the Spirit of Comfort and Selfless Love. You will protect the other spirits and act as a companion when they are in need of someone to be there and listen. Do you except this responsibility?"
"Yes."
"Then off you go. But remember you can always ask for my help if you need it."
Alya quickly hugged her father right before a moonbeam appeared around her causing her to close her eyes. When she opened them she was meet with greens, browns, and blues.
She let out a soft chuckle. Earth was so much beautiful up close than from far away. Now just to find a place to stay and then explore this world.
A/N: So Alya has arrived on Earth, but will keep her identity a secret pretending to be Manny.
Most Alya chapters from now on for a while will be her interacting with random spirits. Some of which will become important, others not so much. If anyone has any ideas for spirits that she helps or events that she has to help with please just add a comment. I have ideas for some, but not many.
Next chapter will be the third part of the Death arc. There will be a fighting scene, so it might be a little time till it comes out since fighting scenes are rather hard to write.
