Choose your favorite time period in history. I myself am a huge history nerd(thanks Hamilton & Six). Make some OCs for this time. Or write in someone's perspective that was actually there!
Just a couple questions to ask yourself, though:
What time period am I doing?
Do I know enough about said time to write about it?
Will my main character be defiant or obedient for their time?
