No Hopes At Normality

Nevan walked through the halls of the thirteenth floor, he turned around the corner & walked up to the opened door. He leaned against the doorway & stayed silent to listen to the TV.

"Investigators are still looking into the anomaly known as The Violet Star, witnesses claim they saw a woman with violet orbs floating from her palms", The Newscaster said while staring into the camera. "As there were other enhanced beings in the park, but the witnesses claim they saw this violet powered woman attacking & torturing Kaine Markoff, Kaine is now missing & if you have any . . .".

Nevan teleported over to the television & turned it off.

"I'm a monster", Lara said.

"No you're not", Nevan replied.

"Turn the television back on, they'll tell you", Lara said. She sat with her legs criss-crossed on her bed.

"Then maybe we're all monsters", Nevan said as he walked back over to the doorway.

"What are you doing here, Nevan", Lara asked? Her head followed him as he walked away.

"Something is wrong", Nevan said, he took a step towards Lara as she gave him a confused look. "Sometimes... I get these migraines, but they progress so badly & the pain get's awful, but then, like a snap, it disappears & then I get this feeling of fear, but it's not my own".

"And", Lara asked? She knew where he was going with this, but was planning to play dumb as long as she could.

"It's coming from you", Nevan said.

"I don't know what you're talking about", Lara lied. "Maybe your powers are malfunctioning".

"I'd beg to differ", Nevan said. Nevan walked over to Lara & placed his hand on her shoulder.

They were thrown into a vision. Nevan saw as a large monster held Lara in its hands, it opened its abyss of a mouth & threw her inside.

The monster saw him, it held out its hands & then a field of purple energy surrounded Nevan in the vision, he was launched into the shadows that casted over the walls & the flung back into the real world.

Lara had wrapped Nevan within her powers & launched him into the hallway. He crashed into the wall & then fell into the ground.

"Where was that", Nevan said after gasping for air. He tried getting up from the ground, but he was in too much pain.

"Stay out of my head", Lara said, she was in sudden shock from being thrown back into the vision that the Emperor locked her in to keep control of her. She got up from her bed & walked towards Nevan, but stopped a few feet from the doorway.

"What was that", Nevan asked, still from the ground?

"You had no right", Lara said, a purple orb lit in the palm of her hand, the door started to ring with purple energy as well. It slammed shut & locked itself.

Nevan sat up from the ground, resting his back against the wall that sat opposite from Lara's bedroom door.

"I heard a loud bang, what happened", Chase said as he ran towards Nevan. Chase looked over Lara's bedroom door. "Did something happen that I should or shouldn't know about"?

"No", Nevan said as he made a disgusted face. He held his arm out for Chase to help him up.

"So what happened", Chase asked? He helped Nevan get to his feet.

"I tried to help her, but... she threw me out", Nevan said, he chuckled. "Quite literally".

"Well, are you okay", Chase asked?
