We all got dismissed and I walked up to my room, laying on the bed trying to listen in, but I couldn't hear. I was too far, so I could only wait for the footsteps. After a few minutes, I heard the clomping of shoes on the stairs, and I quickly sat up, ready to see who got picked, but they kept walking down the hall and stopped outside of my room. I could hear my doorknob turn and my social worker walked in. "Hey," I said grimly, and she motioned for me to follow her. We walked down the stairs and to the living room, where I smiled sweetly at them.

"Did you want to know something about the little ones?" I smile at them, and they frown, confused. I sat down, and they sat down on the sofa opposite you, and the supervisor and the social worker sat on either side of me. "Well, no. We were hoping to learn about you," Pepper said, and I put my head in my hands. "But the younger ones could have a better chance at life. I don't want them to go through all of the neglect, trauma, and abuse of the foster homes and group homes. Im tough, Ive gone through all of it I have thick skin. I can endure it," I rambled, and Pepper leant forward and put her hand on mine.

"You have money and you guys seem good and you could give them a good future, Mines already fucked. take a younger one. You don't want a used one and Im scared you guys will just drop me right back off here and I will be all alone yet again because it has happened way too many times and you can never be sure if a person is going to change their mind and abandon you " I try to convince them, but my social worker speaks up "You've been giving up all your opportunities for the little ones for years and years (y/n). Don't you think it's time you got your turn?" Her words left me speechless. Was it time for my opportunity? I don't know. "I guess I could seek higher education and maybe it would be good for me to have a change." I looked up at them and they nodded.

"So, do you guys want to sign some forms?" the supervisor said and handed them forms and a pen.

It had been two days since I was informed because they had to get background checks and fill in so many forms. The ride to their tower was exhausting. It was raining extremely hard and It fitted my mood because this is a new chapter and It was scary, Very very scary.

The scary-looking man with an ironic name opened my door and got my duffel bag out of the trunk. I looked over to Pepper and Tony and they nodded. I walked behind them into the building and we went up the elevator and into a hallway. We walk down the hall, and they stop outside a door. I look up at them once more and they nod. I press the touch pad on the door and the door opens. "Wow.." The room is massive. There's a huge bed, a bathroom attached, A dresser and a wardrobe. There are also a few paintings. "This is amazing." I laughed and I lay on the bed.

"Can we talk for a minute?" I asked as I sat up and they sat at the end of my bed. "Is this whole adoption thing going to be public and will you change my last name?" I asked. "We were hoping it could be public because of how proud we are of you," Tony said calmly, and I nodded slowly. "Well, yeah, it can be public, and I guess it could be good to have a fresh start with a new last name." I smiled at them, and they nodded. "We just need to make sure that bruise was caused by you running into a door, because if something happened, you can tell us," Pepper says calmly, "and we can get Doctor Bruce Banner to get you some pain relievers." Tony finishes, and I nod. "This one is just from me running into a door." I laugh and they nod.

"(y/n) we have a meeting now briefing them about our current situation. If you need us, ask FRIDAY. She will tell you where we are and she will guide you there." Tony says as they stand up, smiling before leaving and closing the door behind them.

I stood up and I walked over to the desk. "Welcome, Miss Miller. I am Friday, your personal assistant," he said, and I laughed, "Woah! What can you do FRIDAY? " I asked, and she pulled up a blue holographic screen. I cautiously reached my hand out and scrolled. She can do almost everything. This would be amazing for my suit designs and much more. I unzipped my duffel bag and started unpacking my clothes, sketch book, and all my books.

I looked at the door. Anxiety was eating me alive, but so was thirst. I slowly stalked up to the door, and before I could press the touch pad, the door flew open. I jumped back, but nobody was there. I walked down the halls to the elevator, and I pressed the down button. I pulled my phone out of my pocket because waiting for elevators is so awkward and seeming busy makes it less awkward. I assumed everybody would be away at the meeting. I step into the elevator and press the living room/kitchen button. I keep looking down at my phone as I walk into the room, but I look up and there are three people standing there.

I just stood there staring, absolutely starstruck. I could feel a lump in my throat as I breathed heavily and my palms began to get clammy. My ears were ringing, and I swear my eyes were so wide. "Welcome, Its nice to meet you, (Y/n)" he said while holding out a hand for me to shake and I wiped my hand on my jeans and I shook his hand, Nodding. "Hey, I guess I'm your Auntie Nat." Natasha smiled, and I reluctantly accepted her hug before quickly pulling away. "Thanks," I mumble, and laugh nervously. "We have been waiting for you for two days to meet you, Lady (Y/n)!" I laugh a little and I smile.

We all sat on the couch talking for an hour or two, and I fiddled with the blanket on my lap as I looked up at them "You guys aren't as scary as I thought you would be." I laughed a little, and Thor slapped my back a little too hard, causing me to exhale forcefully and Nat rubbed my arm. "It's all so scary. I'm scared they will dump me back there and I will be all alone again. It's happened so many times before, and this is all so new. A super rich hero comes to my orphanage and says he wants me, despite my protests for them to get a younger kid because they need this chance." I sigh and bow my head as they comfort me.
