Hawk's POV
I woke up staring up at a certain Patchwork villain. "Did you kidnap me...?" I mumbled.
"No, dumbass, you passed out," Dabi said. "From the looks of it, from exhaustion."
I sat up, realizing that my head had been in his lap. "Where are we?" I asked.
"In a hotel near that alleyway you passed out in. I called your friend and she called in sick for you at your agency. You slept for about 16 hours, hero," Dabi said. "I tried waking you, but you were out like a light."
I sat up. "Well, thanks, but I should go," I said.
"You need to sleep properly if you're going to be an effective hero," Dabi said. "I follow the Hero Killer's ideals, and I think you're a real hero, you haven't given much reason towards being in it for the money or fame. But you aren't very effective if you're passing out from exhaustion all the time."
I shrugged. "It's never happened before," I said.
"Then that needs to be a wake up call," Dabi said.
"Not my fault being a hero means giving everything you have, including 95% of what would be my free time," I said. "Thanks for not killing, or kidnapping me. But how did you get me in here without my being recognized?"
"I didn't, the desk people just really didn't care," Dabi said. "This is nowhere near a five star hotel."
"Huh," I said. "Might have to keep that in mind."
"Did you idolize heroes growing up?" Dabi asked. "This is just curiosity."
"Just the one that changed my life for the better," I said.
"And that would be?" Dabi asked.
"The new number one," I said.
"Him? Dabi scoffed. "He's the furthest thing from an actual hero. He's in it to prove he's the best."
"Yeah well, I was five and he arrested my crappy father," I said. Fuck. Why was I telling a villain this shit? Shit I haven't even told Rumi? "So I couldn't help but look up to the guy, ok? Besides, unlike you, I don't follow the Hero Killer's beliefs. Yes, he makes an excellent point, but this society can't handle the kinds of changes he wants to bring around. Not yet."
Dabi shrugged. "I can't say I understand you, but whatever you say."
I chuckled. "I like that. You don't agree with my ideals but you're respecting them."
"It's not so much respect as it is acceptance that I probably won't change your mind," Dabi said.
I chuckled. "You're smart," I said.
"Can't you get in trouble for associating with me?" Dabi asked.
"Probably, but I honestly don't give a shit," I said. "Plus, you dragged me here and possibly saved my life."
Dabi nodded. "Fair enough."
"However, you can repay my not arresting me by not kidnapping any more kids," I said.
"I won't," Dabi said. "That was a one time thing, to try and show Bakugou Katsuki his options."
"Well, he clearly chose to be on the right side of the law," I said. "Either way, thank you for taking care of me, and not killing me."
"Make sure you get more sleep, hero," Dabi said. "I figured out where you live, so if I don't think you're getting enough sleep, I will track you down, Keigo."
I froze. "How do you know that name?" I asked.
"Your friend Rumi called you that yesterday on the phone," Dabi said.
