CHAPTER FOUR

( lyanna drove speedily on the highway)

LESLEY: aunty lyanna?

LYANNA: yeah ( she answered but didn't look back )

LESLEY: did you inform your mom that we are coming?

LYANNA: yes I do and she would love to see you girls

AVA: can she make pancakes?

LYANNA: of course, you know... Mostly all mother make pancakes  ( the journey was smooth and soon lyanna pull into Carol's garage. She packed the car and got out tiredly)  girls we are here ( she announced as she opens the door for them then Carol dash out for she has heard the car roar and has known that lyanna has arrived)

CAROL: hello there ( walking briskly towards the girls who run to meet her . They hug the older woman and smile at her)

LESLEY: you are Aunty lyanna's mom?

CAROL: yeah little one
AVA: I wish I could have mine too

CAROL: (glanced up at lyanna who quickly chip in ) you ...

LYANNA: Ava why don't we all go inside first . It's been an hectic journey

LESLEY: yes it has . What should I call you( she ask Carol innocently)

CAROL: well , you could call me grandma

LESLEY: I like that because I consider Aunty lyanna my mom.

LYANNA: now enough. Let's go in girls

AVA: ( look up at Carol) aunty lyanna said you can make pancakes

CAROL: of course I can ( sign as the girls goes inside the house and she turned to lyanna) he trust you

LYANNA: ( turn away shyly and shrug her shoulder) but he does not love me

CAROL: I think of the opposite. He must have love you enough to leave his kids with you

LYANNA: mom, I'm tired . Can we just go inside?

CAROL: okay but I won't give up on trying to tell you  it's time you confess to him

LYANNA: I have heard you . He considered me a good kind neighbour and that's all ( she packed the bags from inside the bonnet and Carol received some from her and they goes inside . They found the girls sitting down quietly on the sofa)

CAROL: I thought you will be in the kitchen or somewhere around the house

AVA: no grandma. Daddy said we must be a good girl

LESLEY; and we promise him we will

CAROL: really? Your dad must be good then ?

LESLEY: of course. He's the best and I'm Lesley

AVA: I'm ava . Can we see the pancakes?

CAROL: yeah . Come on ( Carol gave lyanna the bags and went into the kitchen with the girls) here are they girls ( she present the pancakes to the girls who rewards her with their giggles then suddenly the ground seem to give a shake. The girls quickly stop laughing then get besides Carol who by now has been scared ) lyanna! ( She cried out her name and lyanna show up walking to the kitchen casually for she knows not what has happen)

LYANNA: yes mom (she was surprised and confused by the expression on her mother's face ) what's wrong ? ( and then she heard some noise from outside. She rush out to see what has happen.
She was so alarm with fear as she saw to her wildest horror a storm . Earthquake coming up from afar , she knew what happens to those who the storm caught up with and she vows not to be a victim ,not the kids or her mom . She quickly ran back to the kitchen and quickly carried the girls each on one hand and leading her frightened mom out but was out of luck as the earthquake storm was near. She hastily retrace her step and her mom shouted )

CAROL: the cellar. Follow me ( Carol lead the way and lyanna follow immediately. the girls clutching at her arms . Carol quickly descend the stairs and drop right into a tunnel and lyanna follow suit and just at the right time before the storm hit the house so bad that the entrance in which they got into the tunnel got blocked).
