{Cleo's P.O.V}
*6 months later*
It's weird when summer starts. I can't believe in 3 short months I will be starting grade 11.
"Hey buttmuncher" Dylan wraps me around the waist.
We are as close as ever. I love Dylan so much. More like a brother than anything, but he has a special place in my heart. We walk into the kitchen and get a snack before going outside. School and basketball have been okay. I really hate mentor sessions now though. I never get any helpful pointers and my mentor drags on about nothing.
"So.." Dylan coughs nervously.
"Oh god.. What?" I squint in the sun. I know everytime he says that word it will lead into a deep conversation, lately it's usually about Zac.
"Zac.. He's coming back to visit this weekend"
Yeah. I saw that one coming. I sigh and wipe my eyes. We still haven't talked. In 7 months..
It's feels like a life time though.
"Do you think I should see him?" I get upset thinking about it. I miss him, and I can't put into words how much I miss us.
"I don't know.. It's been so long. And he just broke up with Alice." Dylan says making me sit up.
"wait?" I almost choke.
"He broke up with her" I feel relieved, but at the same time, this is going to make it a whole lot worse.
"Yeah. They were together for ages. Everytime I asked Zac about it he would just change the subject. I told you C. It was just a phase, he's trying to get over you"
"Dyl???" Mr. Efron walks out.
"Hey Dave" I smile waving. Dave is always so welcoming. And makes really nice cupcakes, just thought I might mention that.
"Hey Cleo. Do you reckon you'll come see Zac tomorrow?" He smiles, but I can see in his face he's not expecting me to say yes.
"I don't... Umm. We'll see" I say shyly following Dylan inside.
We went to the city with Eve and Henly shortly after. Thankgod the Zac subject dropped after that. Just incase you're wondering, Eve and Dylan are going strong. Always together and pretty cute I must admit. But I can only take 3 wheeling for so long. Hence why I always invite Henly everywhere. Her and Nash are still together, but they fight a lot. I don't think they will be together for much longer unfortunately. I honestly thought they would be together the longest out of all the couples I know. Nash has a lot of family issues and seems to put it on her. Henly and I hang out a lot lately.
I'm debating wether to see Zac tomorrow. I lay in bed all night, not able to sleep. I have to see him.
{Zac's P.O.V}
"That's it" I smile zipping my suitcase up.
I'm flying back to Cali for the weekend to see Dad and Dylan. I'm miss home so much, this will be great. I haven't thought much about Cleo. Who am I kidding? She's all I ever think about it. It's driving me fucking insane.
"Later Parker" I give him a quick hug.
"Catch ya" he smiles before I rush down stairs to catch a taxi to the airport.
New York traffic. Fantastic.
My phone starts ringing. It's my dad. I clear my throat before answering.
"Hello?"
"Hey Zac. Are you on your way?"
"Yeah. Just pulling into the airport now"
"Great. I can't wait to see you"
"You to. Gotta got now dad. Love you"
"Bye son. Love you too"
I shut the taxi trunk as I get my suitcase. I can't wait to get on the plane and sleep.
{Cleo's P.O.V}
Dylan and I are playing xbox when Dave walks in.
"I'm going to pick Zac up now. Wanna come?"
"Actually I have to go home. But thanks" I smile. I want to see Zac so badly. But by the sounds of it, he's moving on. I don't want him to think I'm depressed without him. I can't give him that satisfaction.
I spend the evening doing my nails and watching YouTube. As I do most summer vacation. Suddenly a thought comes into my mind.
"Absolutely fucking brilliant" I whisper to myself in excitement. This is going to make my life so much easier.
I lay on my bed thinking of my plan. It's well on 11pm and I hear a car pulling into my street. I look out my window as Dave's car is passing. Zac's home.
