⭐Chapter 8⭐
Kazumi was annoyed. No, she was more than that. She was ticked.
Really? "I can't talk to you right now." That was the only thing Mi-na sent her.
"Tch!" Kazumi grimaced as she thought about it. Mi-na had the nerve to get upset with her for needing to study, then deciding to turn down her offer to hang out when she actually had the time. It wasn't as if Kazumi had purposely chosen to spend time with Yoosung over Mi-na. It just worked out that way, since they both needed to study.
"Er, Kazumi?" Yoosung said hesitantly, cutting into her thoughts. "Do you still want to play LOLOL or...?"
"Oh, right. Sorry about that, Yoosung." She had called him on Discordance after Mi-na refused to pick up her calls, but instead of playing LOLOL with him as she promised, all she had done was run through her conversation with Mi-na over and over again.
"It's alright. We don't have to play if you're not feeling up to it."
"Yeah, I don't think I am," she admitted. "But at the same time, I... well, if you want, you can stay on the call."
"Okay!" Yoosung sounded pleased with her offer. "I enjoy talking to you, so I'm fine with that!"
"Okay then. I think I'll start a painting while we talk. Maybe it can be one of the pieces for the RFA party."
"Oooh, if you don't mind, could I watch? I mean through the camera, of course."
Kazumi paused. It wasn't often that she had an audience while she painted. Truthfully, she was always more tense when she thought that someone might be poring over every mistake as she made them. But, this was Yoosung. He was too sweet to nitpick her work, even if he could see them through the camera.
"Alright, just give me a second to set it up."
A few adjustments later and Yoosung was able to see her canvas as she painted on it. Though, there was nothing to see just yet.
"So, what are you going to paint?" Yoosung asked, his excitement obvious.
"Probably a landscape. They're neutral enough that more people will be inclined to buy it." Kazumi started to lay out her brushes and paints so that she could start mixing them.
"That's true. Landscapes are so pretty. But what landscape are you going to paint?"
"I don't know. Usually I just pick a feeling and base the landscape on that. It makes the painting feel more alive."
"Ooh, you could paint a landscape based on how you're feeling right now! So, how do you feel?"
"Annoyed."
"Oh." Kazumi could practically hear Yoosung's embarrassment. "Sorry, I'm probably interrupting your painting process."
"Well, you definitely are," Kazumi pointed out. "But," she added, "I'm not annoyed at you, so don't worry about it."
"Alright... well... what landscape would match how you feel?"
"Not sure." She tapped the end of a brush to her lips. "Hm. If you want, we could brainstorm some ideas together."
"Yeah! Although my artistic preference is a bit LOLOL based at the moment."
"Only a bit?"
"Hey! I'm sure LOLOL would make a great subject for a landscape."
Kazumi rolled her eyes, even though he couldn't see them since she was faced away from the camera. "The only thing that could slightly connect LOLOL and a landscape would be a castle. Or maybe a village. But those are pretty overused subjects."
