⭐Chapter 12⭐

Moira absentmindedly licked frosting off her fingers as she observed the array of pastries set in front of her. She had been working all day yesterday and most of the morning today, but it would seem that she finally had what she wanted to sell at the RFA party. Now all that was left was to write up the list and send it to Juliana.

Speaking of Juliana...

She cast a glance over to the door that connected their rooms. She hadn't talked to her since that awful day when she finally got on Jaehee's last nerve. Just thinking about it made her feel depressed. She may have the bake sale planned out, but how was she ever going to apologize to Jaehee? Honestly, she couldn't even bear to face her right now.

Sighing, Moira went to clean up the kitchen, when a soft noise from Juliana's room stopped her in her tracks. It sounded like a... meow? But Juliana didn't have any cats. And, despite being in a cat hotel, she wouldn't have brought a cat to her room.

Trying to be as quiet as possible, Moira went up to the door connecting their rooms and opened it.

Juliana was turned away from her, looking at the ground. She seemed to be reprimanding a fluffy white cat, who looked up at her and meowed again.

"For the last time, Elizabeth, you just had food, I'm not giving you any more."

Wait, Elizabeth?

Then that cat was–

"Lizzy!" Moira let out a squeal and ran to pet the cat. Startled by the noise, both Elizabeth and Juliana whipped around, with Elizabeth taking off to find somewhere to hide.

Moira came to a halt and shifted on her feet awkwardly as Juliana stared at her. She didn't really want to talk to Juliana, but now that she had burst into her room, it seemed that there was no avoiding it.

Breaking the silence, Juliana said, "Jaehee told me that she liked the cupcakes."

Huh? "She... she did?"

Juliana nodded. "I went to C&R yesterday, and she told me to tell you that the cupcakes were delicious. It seems that there were a few that did not spill out of the box when you tripped."

Moira didn't know what to say. On one hand, she was overjoyed that Jaehee enjoyed the cupcakes. But on the other hand, she was still too embarrassed to speak to her.

"Um, tell her I said thank you." She directed her gaze to her feet to avoid Juliana's piercing gaze.

"Why don't you tell her yourself? She's on the RFA app."

"I-I, um... Just tell her for me!" She turned around, wanting to make a quick escape, but Juliana caught her by the elbow.

"Moira, wait. Let me at least apologize to you."

"Apologize?"

"Yes." Now it was Juliana's turn to avoid Moira's gaze. "I was quite rude to you the other day and did not take your feelings into consideration." She looked back at Moira, and to her credit she did seem regretful. "That's why I went to C&R yesterday. I am trying to convince Jumin to let Jaehee work on the cafe chain instead of the cat playground project."

Moira turned towards her clapped her hands together, a bud of hope blossoming in her chest. "Do you think Jumin will let her?"

"I don't know, he's pretty stubborn about this." Juliana combed her hair away from her face and motioned to Elizabeth, who had crept up behind her to stare at Moira. "I'm watching Elizabeth for him, but it's only to return the favor of allowing me to meet with him. I don't have anything but my words to convince him with."
