The Same Days Over AgainThe hard winds blew everywhere the eye could see. Knocking down anything in its path.
And that day was the day Ely lost her ribbon for her hair. Now eddies where being created in her brown hair.
"Mrs. Macready will not be happy about that blue ribbon." Ely said and birled around the best she could in the beating winds.
The girl dashed right back to the big, professor mansion.
The wind was now rolling with her direction now, and was much easier to dart via the winds rafts back to the mansion.
Quickly, when Ely got to the door, she carefully unfurled the door and jumped into the big kitchen filled with more natural light than the room could actually take.
She quickly birled around to face the three maids. Mrs. Macready was one of them."What happened to your hair? Where's your silk ribbon?" queried Mrs. Macready and put her hands on her hips.
"It was like a derecho out there," said Ely and pressed her back against the door. "I think a storm is in the making." Ely glided across the kitchen tiles.
"Hm." Mrs. Macready hummed then slowly rotated around back to the counter."After you've cleaned up, go to the dining room; you are eating in there with the professor tonight." Mrs. Macready said whilst stirring the soup.
Ely nodded and almost got out the door when Mrs. Macready said, "Oh, yes. The professor wants to tell you something. Two things. Remember!"
Ely darted from the kitchen throughout the living, hall, up the stairs, then to her bedroom.
Quickly, the girl ripped out her book that was almost filled with her words and actions. A journal.
"Now," said Ely. The wind crashed against the glass windows.
"what first?"•••
Two hours later, Ely found herself at the table with the professor.
"Mrs. Macready said you had something to tell me?" said Ely.
"Yes. I do," said Professor Digory.
"We have four children coming to stay with us. Until farther noice."Ely nodded back looking at her plate.
An hour after dinner, Ely was in the library; more than half of her in a bottom cabinet that supposedly held the book which was supposed to be that was looked for.
Ely groaned. "Fine," said Ely. "I will get in the cupboard."
Ely shoved herself entirely into the cabinet. When the girl completely did, she rolled forward.
She huffed. "Stuffy." She said. Ely shuffled in that cabinet of books that sat on both right and left of her, that gave her enough room to sit betwixt both stacks.Ely turned farther left of herself to the books.
It was a good thing that Ely wasn't claustrophobic. Though, the cabinet was huge alike the house. When Ely bent leftward, she slammed down onto her stomach.
Once anew, Ely groaned.Yet then, Ely gasped.
"The book!"
When Ely clasped hold of the thing and brought it closer, she came to realise it was not a book.
It was dim but Ely noticed it as a miniature wardrobe. "Like a doll's thing." Ely thought."I suppose it's old. Definitely not mine." Ely said out loud and placed it back down.
Ely clutched the small knob of the nice old wood wardrobe; no bigger than a sugar cube.
Turned and pulled the knob was done to by Ely.The small wardrobe solely dropped out snow.
"Ugh. Oh, I can't get pass that." Ely dropped her hand.Suddenly, "Ely!" The Macready shouted.
Ely jumped out of reflex. And quick as a weasel, she hit the cabinet door open and slipped out and ran the library then hall 'till met with the chubby old woman."Mrs. Macready." Ely smiled awkwardly and sweetly.
"Up to bed." Mrs. Macready was glaring at her but harder at the grandfather clock that told her that it was nearly one in the morning. When the Macready left Ely's eyes trailed back to the library route. Not often things would be different in Ely's days in life. Same thing, same day.
All those thoughts trailed up with her up the stairs and even in bed.The girl in the big bed hoped she could create a friend with those children.
