She ran fast, not looking back. Taking a gun out of her waist belt, she loaded it and aimed behind her. After she heard a grunt, she took a few seconds to look around.

Bingo.

Placing the gun back in its holster so she could move faster, she climbed up a broken and rusty ladder and reached some sort of platform that creaked slightly once her whole weight stood on it. During the climbing process she caught a glimpse of blonde hair passing through the ground floor and she felt somewhat relieved.

Now she was lying on her belly on the unsteady platform, once again scanning the whole building, though only a couple faint lights lit the massive room, most of it being shrouded in darkness. She didn't see any of the men anymore, but her focus was on someone else at the moment anyway.

"C'mon, Ida, where are you?" She whispered to herself through gritted teeth as quiet as possible. Then she saw a small pool of blood and all her worries came rushing back. It isn't only the thought that Ida was hurt, but also that anyone could easily track her down following the blood traces. She needed to get to her first.

Meanwhile, the blonde was sitting on the floor, leaning her back against whatever tank was behind her. She needed a break from running, and she needed to stop the bleeding. She was currently using her hand to press down hard on the right side of her stomach, where blood was still gushing from.

She heard a gun being loaded and her head snapped to her left where she saw a man aiming a gun at her and grinning. The colour drained out of her face and before she could do anything about it, a slashing sound echoed quietly through the room.

She opened her eyes and saw none other than Katherine Wexford throwing a knife on the floor and crouching down in front of her.

"Hey, are you okay?" She whispered, her eyes looking directly into hers.

Ida grunted in pain as she tried to sit up better, and uncovered the wound piercing her stomach, right underneath her rib cage.

Katherine's expression hardened. "What happened out there? Why did you just dive right in?" Her voice was deep and harsh.

The younger girl shifted in pain and she let out a deep breath. "I don't know." She shrugged. "I thought it was our chance to get it over with. I'm tired of this whole thing." She whined and Katherine's hand covered her mouth immediately to block the sounds and prevent themselves from being exposed.

"We need to find you a better spot until I finish this."

Katherine hooked her left arm behind Ida's back and placed the blonde's right arm around her own neck to help her up. "C'mon you got this." She encouraged until Ida was back up on her feet.

"Kat?" Ida managed to get out as she was clutching the wound with her left hand, wincing in pain every now and then. "I don't think we're here for an assassination. I think we're the targets."

Katherine almost stopped walking for a moment, before she regained her composure and kept going on. "And why is that?"

"The guy who was going to shoot me...." She winced and grunted again as she pushed herself to keep going despite the sharp pain she felt in her side. "I recognised him. We had a mission together a while ago."

Katherine shook her head slightly. "No, that's impo-" She stopped herself as the realisation hit her. "Do you think they know?"

"Know what?"

"That we wanted to disappear."

They both went silent for a moment before Katherine spoke up again. "We need to get out of here righ-"
