Chapter 10 || Battle in New York & Washington D.C

We near the civilians, Steve takes my hand and we jump to go on top of the vehicle to speak to the cops, "do we?"

As we jump on top of the vehicle they point their guns at us in shock, "I need men in these buildings, there are people inside that can run into the line of fire. You take them through the basement or through the subway. You keep them off the streets, I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."

"Why the hell should I take orders from you?" The police officer asked.

An explosion was sound behind us, an energy blast came our way as Steve blocked it by his shield, the Chitauri soldiers come our way. I fight one as Steve fights the other, as we fight them I shot the one in the head I fought while Steve broke the arm and hit him with his shield causing him to fall back against a vehicle.

The officer turns around, "I need men in those buildings, lead the people down and away from the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."

Steve drops the arm and I smiled going into his arms laughing, "that was amazing!"

"Who knew you could kick ass like that?" He asked me.

I smiled winking, "anyone who gets in my way, or tries to kill you, I'll fight them off."

As soon as I was going to kiss him, I got lashed onto a chain that encircled around my waist carrying me off onto a carrier above, I screamed, "Miranda!"

I looked up and it was the soldiers, I took my gun out and began firing at them, "Tony!"

"Miranda? What the—"

"Help me dammit!"

"Hold on!"

As he flew over he shot down the carrier and I began to fall screaming, but he swooped down catching me before my death, I held onto him and he took me to a rooftop to talk to me.

"What the hell was that Miranda?" He asked me as his helmet opened up.

I looked at him confused, "what? You think this was my fault?"

"Oh, so you just didn't magically get captured?" He asked sarcastically.

"They took me! Okay? I couldn't help myself out of it!" I argued back.

He took a breath and sighed nodding, "I'm sorry, for all the things I said, I'm sorry."

"Don't give me that sentimental bullshit sad story crap, you meant what you said," I said with my arms crossed walking away.

"I'm sorry okay Miranda? I really am," he said apologetically, "and, I heard that you're expecting, who's is it?"

"I appreciate your apology, but the child's not yours. It's Steve's," I tell him.

He looked up, "you've been seeing Capsicle this whole time?"

"His name is not Capsicle," I snapped going to his face, "and yes I have, but now that you almost told him the truth, I couldn't let you do that."

"Yeah? He's bound to know about it soon enough right?" He asked.

I sighed shaking my head, "take me back to my boyfriend, I'm done with this."

He closed his helmet and we flew back without a word, he touched me down to the ground then flew away to fight as I join up back again with Steve, Nat, Clint and now Thor.

Steve comes to me hugging me, "are you alright?"

"I'm okay."

We smiled then he looked to Thor, "what's the story upstairs?"
