Cat's can't always land on their feet_⌫The wind blew strong today causing a certain girl to sigh and take off her sweater; revealing a dark red spaghetti strap shirt with blue jean shorts. A pair of black combat boots layering over some ebony leggings. She smiled to herself and stood up, the girl made her way into the bustling market tying the sweater around her waist in the same movement. Picking up the donut that she had bought earlier, it had sat next to her as she had watched the sunset.
Everybody constantly forgot about the second town at the other side of the mountain because of there being no main reason for publicity. Mt. Ebott had a city and a small market town surrounding it, the city being the most famous. They only got attention because of so many people climbing the mountain and not coming back down, that and the many legends that grow and twist in the large grapevine. The girl couldn't help but wonder what made people climb up there knowing they might not come back. She had many guesses though.
The girl wasn't an active member of her small (mainly just a market with a few houses here and there) town. She didn't talk to people or anything. She used to, but that's the past and she has to forget about it. Now's the future and things are happy, as much as they can be with the world practically killing itself.
Her sweater (which was tired around her waist) was black, it had a white stripe right below her neck over her chest. Going arcoss where her heart would be, at least she thought about it like that. Because she was a sucker for black and white outfits to show off her edge.
Y/n was extra curious about the mountain, to the point that she wanted to climb the side her village faces to see if she would disappear. This girl was way to brave and stupid. Just to darn curious that's why the rare times she would come to town everybody would call her 'kat' because of that old saying 'curiosity killed the cat'.
Y/n was that, but a person.
She couldn't help it though, something deep down inside her always asked too many questions and she felt inclined to find the answers. It got her into trouble and she was made fun of a lot when she was younger for it, but, she was also stubborn.
She was way to brave and preserved in the wrong situations, but that was her. She hardly noticed she does this stuff, she didn't even notice she was one fifth up the mountain after being caught up in her thoughts. When did she leave town?!
She chuckled with a smile, here she goes again. On an adventure, Y/n is up and away. Let go, go, go! She smiled at her childish thoughts and countined to scale till she met a cliff, quickly sitting on it to take a brake.
Because that's Y/n, some how brave, filled with perseverance, yet lazy.
The tired girl noticed that she could see the other side of the mountain, she also noticed a person with a blue sweater climbing up and heading into a cave. She smiled brighter it seemed she wasn't the only curious one, Y/n's frown grew soon after and she stood wiping her hands off on her sweater getting dirt smeared on it.
When time reset in the underground it the humans on the surface stayed the exact same, most likely due to the lack of overflowing magic like the underground has. So the world kept on going without Frisk, technically making them very old. All of their surface friends were long dead and everybody they knew. They lived in a constant state of resets.
But this time was different.
Y/n's was climbing the mountain as well, but on the opposite side. The curious girl noticed a small hole in the wall she was scaling so as per usual she halted going up and went to her right to check it out with not a single thought or regret.
Curiosity; her Achilles heel.
She stuck her arm in the small hole that laid on the mountain wall, she could fit her entire arm in. All of a sudden she heard a voice, it was high pitch and scary.
"Is that a human hand?"
She yelled and pulled her arm back out, it was kind of damp and had some blue glowing stuff on it. She stuck her eye up to the small gap but couldn't see anything. Honestly she should be leaving, a mountain just talked to her. But she wanted to know why and she wouldn't go until she did.
So she did what any "smart" person would do, and stuck her mouth up to the gap.
"Hello? Yeah, I'm a human, my name is Y/n. What are you?"
There was no reply from the voice for a bit, just silence as she tried to wipe her arm off on the mountain. Y/n settled for her sweater though, it actually cleaned the slime off. Now her arm was slightly cut from the rock and bleeding also while being coverd in dirt.
Let's not forget; if she lets go of the wall and she falls down the side of the mountain she will snap her entire skeleton like twigs and bash her head open.
But, Y/n was to deep in her thoughts to realize the pain in her arm and the fact she was dangling millions of feat above the ground. She was getting impatient with the voice, her four braincells working at speeds faster than sonic the hedgehog could eat a chili dog with his favorite toppings.
"I'm a flower." The self proclamatiomed flower giggled seemingly at his own words, the girl tried her best to look inside the mountain only to find only blackness. She stuck her entire arm in again, leaning her weight on the hole to give the flower a thumbs up.
But, a loud crack was heard.
The gap had a crack going down it, not very large but enough for Y/n to fall through. Nobody else could probably fit through that, she only could because she was a very short person for her age. As her entire body fell through the now larger gap in the mountain she realized the room she was was incredibly damp with not much light. Y/n had completely forgotten she was falling until she was yanked out of the air by her waist, she noticed a vine holding onto her and a confused noise by that exact same voice from before that quickly turned into a giggle. She was more focused on the fact that the gap she fell through was healing itself up. Probably due to whatever barrier spell or something (she couldn't remember at the moment, having not believed the legends she didn't bother to listen or care back then.) from the legends that is keeping the monsters down here.
"Welcome to the underground, Y/n!"
