"So, what am I doing here again?"
Yesterday I asked Repunzel to meet me after school at the library. In art I have to do a painting of myself, but the only problem was I couldn't do anything that had to do with art. I joined art for an easy A, not knowing our projects actually had to look good.
Repunzel was the best painter in the whole school, so she was my best option.
"I already told you! You need to paint me." I said with a smirk on my face. The smirk always worked.
"Please, your face is too demented to paint." She spat at me.
"Whoa, take it easy! I will pay you."
"Honestly, I don't care about money anyway. Besides, why would you come to me? We never talk."
"Why is that exactly?" Now, I wasn't asking this to be funny. I genuinely wanted to know.
"Maybe because you're a jackass?" She snapped back at me.
"Oh, harsh!" I made a fake pouty face and covered my hand with my heart. Joking around is a great way to hide actual feelings...
"Ugh whatever, I'm out." She started to push out of her chair before I grabbed her wrist.
"What the, let go of-"
"Repunzel, please! I really need your help". There was no way in hell I could fail this project, and this is the first time I've actually talked to her since 8th grade.
She glared down at me. Her wrist twisted out of my grasp as she huffed down to her chair. There was silence.
I'm not too keen on silence.
Repunzel's hands ran through her long blonde hair as she closed her eyes, trying to think.
"Okay, but on one condition."
"And what would that be?" I asked unsure if I should be scared or pleased.
"We don't tell anyone about this," she said while narrowing her eyes at me. I'm slightly offended that she doesn't want anyone to know that she's helping me but at the same time I don't want anyone to know that I care about something.
"You got it princess, my lips are sealed," I agreed.
She rolled her eyes and sighed, "When do we start?"
"Well I was thinking like right now," I didn't really think about it.
She gaped at me with annoyance.
"Umm, are we in an art studio?"
"Well no, no we-"
"Then how do you expect me to paint you?! And besides, when did you think I'd have this finished?"
"Well, knowing how amazing of a painter you are, I thought it would be finished by... You know... tomorrow?"
Repunzel threw her head up and groaned.
"Wrong answer?" I amplified.
"Do you know how long it takes to make a good portrait for average painters?"
I couldn't tell if this was a trick question.
"How lo-"
"A long time!" She yelled, cutting me off. The old librarian turned over and shushed at us. I nodded my head in response.
Okay Flynn, it's time to put your charm on.
Wait... Why didn't I already have my kick ass charm on?
"But Repunzel, you aren't an average painter." I looked up at her with tender eyes, hoping she'd fall for it.
"Also, we have two weeks to get this done. You can take your time, and then you'll get the money. Deal?" I clarified. She looked up at me as she glared. She hesitantly reached her hand over to shake.
This was going to be an interesting two weeks.
