Everything is different now

What a day.. - Chapter 4

As we were entering the mess hall everyone's  attention was suddenly on me and Alister.. "Hey is there another new student thing?" I quickly glance over to see his expression the same as mine, "So you don't know either huh..? Just our luck." I try scanning the room for any explanation waiting for someone to speak up and tell me what the hell was going on. "Listen here you damn loser, I may have lost the fight back in the hall.. but I have no intention of repeating past mistakes!" Elise sounded like she wanted a serious fight this time.. "Elise darling, you know exactly how that will end!~" she clenched her fist with frustration and then released it. "Actually this time I'm not fighting you head on, I have a few friends.." she grinned like a fox knowing damn well I wouldn't be able to take on this many people at once even if I'm talented.. "Well that isn't very fair, I never took you for dirty play."

"Students, students, students!" a cold and familiar voice called out to us breaking everything up, "Elise I understand you're envious of Mr. Azaki's friendship with Alister however that gives you no permission to start a war. If you would like to settle it like a true warrior you can go head on in a duel, anything other than that will result in suspension for you both with a penalty, am I clear?" it sounded even colder now, almost like it just gets worse and worse with no end. "Then I challenge this bastard after school at 4:30." still bitchy as ever, "Karune what do you say about this?", "I accept this challenge from Elise, sir." so then it was decided.. I would duel Elise for whatever her true reasons are after school at 4:30 pm giving me about an hour to get ready. This is kind of exciting..I have a rival and made friends..it's already better then back at home. "Well we should probably get you all ready to go against up Elise." Alister looked at me with a sort of determined look, "Right." I nodded and headed to pick some things out to eat with him before finding a table.

"So what happened in between you two Alister?", he looked over at me kind of suprised and then kind of sad. "If you don't want to then you don't have to tell me about it I guess I was just curious because you guys seem like total opposites!" I didn't really feel like I was helping the situation so I ended up just shutting up with a little of embarrassment. "No, you're fine I think I'm ready to talk about it now. At first she was really sweet..but the more we got into our relationship she changed more and more until..well you know into whoever she is now." He looked down at the table with a sort of sadness I didn't know yet, "What about her magical abilities? Have you ever seen her in a duel against another stong magic user?", "Yes I have, so I'm asking you to take this very seriously." He looked at me with a serious look. "I won't take her lightly then! I'll make sure to win how about that?" I grinned a lot more right there in that moment and for whatever reason still remains oblivious to me. The rest of the day passed very quickly and it was quite refreshing, but when me and Alister left our last class he went somewhere only saying that he was gonna do something and nothing else.

"What a strange person- hey Serenity! Where are you going?", "I'd like to ask you a question Karune, will you allow me to move into your dorm?" she looked like she was talking to some kind of royalty.. "You don't have to be so formal, we are friends let loose a little! But why would you want to move in with me?" I was so confused, first Alister goes somewhere without telling me every possible detail, and now Serenity asks to move in with me? What is going on... "O-Of course you can I don't see why not!" I send her a smile and her face lights up, "Thank you!" it was the first time I've ever seen her without a blank face..she was really smiling! "I could help you move eveything!", "I'd love that!" she showed me over to her room and told me what to take over while she got everything else, when we were done getting her stuff over she started unpacking and I took a shower, "Already 4 'o clock huh...well I'd better get ready quick." I put on some nice black pants with a striped shirt and cologne. "Hmm... maybe this will work.." I cast a spell on my ring to turn it into obsidian snakes around my neck, "This is gonna be gorgeous for my duel." I glance over to look at the time, "4:27 I need to get going.".

As I head down to the back of the school where the duel arena is I already see teachers, Elise, and a nurse? Elise was wearing all black with gems all over her, I had to admit they were nice. "Are you ready to lose Mr. Azaki? 'Cause ya ain't gonna win against me!", "Yeah yeah that'll be determined by the winner of this fight, so don't hold back it'll only make one of us look bad." I go to my side of the duel ring as Elise walks over onto hers, "During this fight anything goes except, The death of your opponent and curses, or hexes. There will be a very advanced healer who can heal any wound such as bone breaks, muscle tears, or even re-attach a limb but that still doesn't mean it'll be taken lightly.". We both nodded and waited for the whistle which felt like hours until there it was, "ICANTE!" As a large ice spear came rushing for me I casted a fire spell almost right before it hit me, she isn't so weak. "What's wrong you were so cocky in the hall when you shoved me Karune!" She had that look in her eye again, "I wasn't being cocky Elise I was warning you to stop messing with me! Flamon." I sent a large ball of inferno shooting her way, "Really..? ISKE!".

An ice wall to protect herself..so she's clever, "Flemton!" I sent a barrage of little fire balls to destroy her wall as I followed quickly behind them "Icante.." I hold the large ice spear in my hand ready to strike her when the wall is down..as the wall shatters in front of me and Elise, she throws a charged up fireball that she was hiding behind hit burning my arm."Tch, I should've seen that coming..", "But you're stupid and didn't so now Im going to stab you and finish this duel as the victor.". "Well I hate to break it to you but I'm not giving up yet. Icante!" as I reach out my hand a slanted wall emerges from the ground and collapses. "You can have crushed me you fucking PSYCHO!" She dodged the wall but an piece of ice was sticking out of her arm, "Well look how the tables have turned, your arm was injured by ice while mine has been injured by fire. Flemton.". "Icante!", "How about we do this with some class and fight it out with some hand to hand combat? Literally.". "You are such an annoying little insect you know that?!", "Aggressive as always, Elise. "Talso.", as I walk around the ice wall I smirk at the sight of her in the air completely unable to move. "So the kitty's finally in it's cage?"

"Flammo-", "Talso, I don't think so, give up already Elise. You can't do anything as long as you're in this spell of mine." she looked at me with a frustrated expression, but deep down I knew she had no hope of winning this fight anymore. "Alright then if you don't want to quit I'll just make you!", as I'm about to cast another spell she quickly stops me, "WAIT WAIT OKAY!..I give up..". "THIS DEULS WINNER IS KARUNE AZAKI, WITH THAT BEING SAID THE NURE WILL NOW HEAL THE BOTH OF YOU.", "Contragulations Elise I didn't expect you to be so strong!" I smiled at her and she just looked at me without saying anything, after I got back to my dorm I found out Alister left to go switch his dorm with me instead of the other people he was already with, which was kind of nice to know that I would be surrounded by good people who I trust. "So how was your fight huh?", I look over to see Alister with a curious look on his face, "It was actually really nice! I didn't expect to have so much fun.". "WELL I SAW THE WHOLE THING THROUGH MY WINDOW!",  he showed me the view from his window and it was the entire duel arena! After a few hours it was already 10:30 so I went to sleep so I could be well rested for school tomorrow. "What a day...." I slowly fell into a deeply relaxing rest after such a bizzare first day.
